Guests going to grab a bite to eat at the Pepper Market, an eating destination in Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, may have noticed a change recently. A new buffet concept has been rolled out and trialed with guests there in place of the Market's food court.
While the Pepper Market looks much the same, the change comes in that guests will pay a set price for an all-you-care-to-eat buffet filled with many food dishes instead of paying for different items at different stations.
The new buffet format doesn't seem like it will affect the quality of the Pepper Market's offerings. According to Chef Stephen Wheeler, all foods on the buffet are freshly prepared and made from scratch. Diners can expect such traditional favorites like waffles, pancakes and made-to-order omelets at breakfast. Those partaking at the buffet for lunch can find everything from fresh-baked pizza, pasta, salad, Mexican cuisine, and a carved roast of the day. Dinner at the Market is a la carte.
At this time, there's no word on how long the buffet trial will last, or if the switch to the buffet is a "done deal." There's also no real word at this time on how this buffet works with the dining plan.
Cost for the Pepper Market is $14.99 for breakfast ($8.99 ages 3 - 11) and $16.99 for lunch ($9.99 ages 3-11). The price includes a non-alcoholic drink and dessert.

If you're hungry enough to be on the Deluxe Dining Plan...Mayan Grill is the way to go at Coronado Springs...the service is excellent, and the Huevos Rancheros on the breakfast menu is amazing.....

ok, so I didn't read that the Mayan was closed when the buffet was on!!!!
I guess because Coronado's more of a convention centre, the buffet makes sense..but I still recommend the Mayan Grill for dinner......great atmosphere and service, and they used to have entertainment during the evenings on weekends (a guy playing spanish guitar)

According to the responses in the comment section on the Disney Parks, the buffet will be considered a counter service meal. I asked if this becomes a permanent fixture if it will change to table service like all other buffets. I will keep an eye out for a reponse and post it here.

It has been added to the 2012 DDP as a CS meal.
