More than 26,000 runners lined up in the dark hours of the morning to participate in the 2013 Princess 1/2 Marathon. A mostly female field came from 34 different countries to share in this amazing and memorable 5th Anniversary race. The youngest runner in the field was a youthful 14 years old; the oldest a spritely 98.
Pulling ahead of the pack and emerging victorious, while breaking her own record setting time, was Louisiana runner Rachel Booth. Rachel raced into the record books by becoming the first woman to win an astounding four runDisney race titles.
"It never gets old, for sure," said Booth, who was greeted at the finish line by her husband and two small children. "As I got to Mile 7 and 8 and through Mile 10, I got to see some people (cheering) and that definitely gave me extra incentive."
Booth crossed the finish line in an elite time of 1:17:38 " 33 seconds faster than her then-record time of 1:18:11 from one year ago. The second-place finisher Mia Elbon of Nashville, TN, came in at 1:18:04. Third-place finisher Megan Jaswell of Johnston, RI, ran the event in 1:26:47. It was a fantastic showing by all.
We send kudos and congratulations to every single participant in the race who left their heart and soul out on the roads of Walt Disney World on Sunday morning. No matter what time or place they finished in every last prince and princess got out there and did it, that's impressive.

ROTFLOL! Oh my gosh Carla!! I am so sorry. My daughter and I decided to train for the 2014 race and that was totally on my mind when writing the post. I only jumped the gun there by a year. Thanks so much for the catch.
