One of the most exciting performances at Disney's Hollywood Studios takes place in a quaint Mediterranean village in the south of France. Of course, we're talking about the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.
This nearly 40-minute long show is full of amazing stunts, roaring car engines, explosions, and high-speed chases. It's definitely on our list of must-see attractions whenever we visit the Studios.
Lights, Motors, Action! was inspired by the Moteurs...Action! Stunt Show Spectacular in Disneyland Paris " which explains why the set was designed to like a village in the south of France!
The show includes a red "hero" car and several "villain" cars and all are specially designed, modified high performance Opel autos. The cars features 150-horsepower motorcycle engines and a gear system featuring four forward gears and four reverse gears, allowing them to make amazing hairpin turns.
Lights, Motors, Action! shows what it takes to make an action film and includes pyrotechnics, stuntmen falling off buildings, jet ski chases, and of course car chases.
Throughout the show the "director" sets up different action scenes to "shoot" and then each scene is shown on a large billboard-sized screen to giving the audience a chance to see how the chases scenes are completed through the magic of editing and camera angles.
With 5,000 seats, there is ample seating for the show in the auditorium, but at certain times of the day some of the seats will be in direct sunlight, so wear your sunscreen or bring a hat! And be sure to have your cameras ready. You'll definitely get some great shots during the show.
Cars fans will be excited to see Lightning McQueen when he makes a special appearance during the show.
Check the Times Guide at Disney's Hollywood Studios for show times. And remember, since it is an outdoor show, performances may be impacted by the weather.
