runDisney has announced a brand new way to participate in a Disney 5K. The runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series gives you the chance to participate in a Disney race without leaving your hometown. And it's all for a good cause.
This virtual race series will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and includes three 5K races that start in May.
The races can be completed anywhere you prefer: in your neighborhood, at your local park, and yes even on your treadmill in the basement! Participants will receive a finisher medal for each 5K completed, and if you finish all three virtual 5K races you'll get a challenge medal.
The price for each 5K is $39 and if you want to run the entire series the price is $142. The races are Ma 15 through June 1; June 5-18; and June 19-30.
The finisher medals were inspired by Mickey Mouse and feature his yellow shoes, red pants, and white gloves while the challenge medal features Mickey in his sports ensemble.
Participants can register here for the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series.

Actually, the only benefit to LLS is the publicity for their organization. You can make an additional donation to LLS when you register, but none of the $39- $142 entry fee goes directly to LLS.
