Select Walt Disney World Restaurants Testing Allergy-Friendly Menus

Several restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort are testing new "allergy-friendly" menus for guests with food allergies and intolerances.

The allergy friendly menus are being tested for a limited time at the World Premiere Food Court at the All-Star Movies Resort, the Flying Fish Cafe at the BoardWalk, and Captain Cook's and the Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

One theme park is also included in the menu testing as several restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios are offering the allergy-friendly menus including the ABC Commissary, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, and The Hollywood Brown Derby.

According to the Disney Food Blog the current test menus are focusing on gluten free items including chicken club sandwiches, chicken tenders, and cheeseburgers. The kid's allergy friendly menu features gluten free chicken tenders and or a gluten free cheeseburger.

Guests with food allergies can also visit the Garden Kiosk in Disney's Animal Kingdom where they can speak with cast members for tips on where to eat with food allergies. Allergy safe food items are also available for purchase at the Garden Kiosk.

This is awesome!!! We ate at the ABC Commissary last April and they had an amazing gluten free bun for chicken and hamburgers. They told us they had just changed the type of bun they were using. We loved it!!!Disney has always been great with special diets but to be testing special menus is great news. Just another thing that keeps us coming back and making us feel special.

Disney continues to set the standard for this important part of so many lives. Now they can all enjoy the magic of Disney, while maintaining their vigilance against so many food allergies that have begun to occupy their every thoughts. My family has been assisted many times in having Disney chefs visit our party as soon as we identify an allergy-prone guest. I am amazed and delighted at how far Disney will go, consistently, to make guests with allergies as comfortable in their dining as those who have no allergies. Hat's off the Disney.
