Snack & Strolls are a popular way to eat - or drink - your way around the Parks of Walt Disney World. The most popular versions involve eating your way around the world at Epcot, or conquering the bars of the Seven Seas Lagoon on a monorail crawl. Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog even offer a wide variety of ideas for fun foodie themed "crawls" around Walt Disney World property in their annual Guide to Walt Disney World Dining eBook. Any way you divide it up, Disney Parks offer a broad variety of tasty treats to nibble your way through
So where should you start on this culinary crusade? Why not tackle some of the fan favorite foods that started the Disney foodie craze at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Classics. Six extraordinarily themed Lands, and twelve scrumptious treats await the intrepid adventurers taking on this sip & snack challenge. Let's get going!
Main Street U.S.A
We'll start right on Main Street U.S.A. with a stop at the Main Street Confectionary to pick up our breakfast of a Mickey Krispie Treat. (What - it is cereal.) Plain or covered in chocolate, simply on a stick, or as big as your head, these sweet, and crunchy, craveable treats are full of marshmallow goodness. You'll want to pick up one for the challenge, and a few to take home.
Adventureland
As you hit the central plaza, take a left and journey into the jungles of Adventureland. Follow the path into this tropical land of lush greenery and tiki style until you get to the orange and blue oasis of the Sunshine Tree Terrace. Here you'll be buying a nostalgic Citrus Swirl at the home of the Orange Bird. This frozen delight is a combination of a refreshing frozen orange juice slush swirled with creamy vanilla soft serve.
Indulge in this dreamy concoction as you continue down the path of adventure, be sure to veer right when you reach the spitting camel, because back behind Aladdin's flying Carpets is where you'll come to Aloha Isle. What you'll find here is truly a Disney food classic that has a cult following all its own, the pineapple Dole Whip. Or, if you would prefer an even more powerful pineapple punch, the Dole Whip Float.
Frontierland
Out of the tropics and into the wild west, your journey takes you to Frontierland on a quest for Churros. A quintessential Disney snack, churros are deep fried dough covered in cinnamon and sugar that can be found at Frontierland Churro Cart. Grab a sizeable stick of goodness, and while you're at it - pick up a Mickey Mouse Shaped Soft Pretzel and some cheese sauce.
Liberty Square
Moving back in history, stroll along the Rivers of America until you com to Liberty Square. Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is home to several fan favorite food, but by this point you could use a little protein, so order up a Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. However, since there's no dieting in Disney - you can also consider the Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich, which is to die for.
Fantasyland
Sweet treats abound throughout the realm of Fairy Tales. Fantasyland is home to gourmet cupcakes and the Raspberry Lemonade Slush, both of which can be found at the Cheshire Cafe.
Heading back into the Enchanted Forest you'll come across Maurice's Amazing Popping Machine where you can grab a bucket of Freshly Popped Popcorn. Maurice's is another spot where you get two fan favorites to tempt your taste buds - a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is next on the MK Classics Snack and Stroll challenge list.
Continue on towards Storybook Circus, because inside Big Top Treats you'll find freshly dipped Character Caramel Apples. As you nosh away on this sweet family sized snack (I highly suggest asking them to slice it for you), you can watch the Disney confectioners create these delicious works of art.
Tomorrowland
This magical tour of food finishes up in Tomorrowland with one of Disney's most popular, and divisive, snacks of all. Fans either love it or hate it - the smokey, salty, juicy, meaty, Turkey Legs from the Tomorrowland Turkey Leg Cart.
You'll absolutely need something cold, and refreshing to wash it down, so head to the Lunching Pad and have a Frozen Coke. Then smile! Because you just completed the Sip, Snack, and Stroll: Magic Kingdom Classics Challenge.
