The Walt Disney World Resort is turning to the Dark Side. runDisney has announced an all-new half marathon weekend, the Star Wars Half Marathon: the Dark Side. The race pays homage to the dark side of the Force, and now the Disneyland Star Wars Half Marathon will be called "The Light Side."
The Star Wars Half Marathon: the Dark Side is scheduled for April 14-17, 2016 and will include the half marathon, a 5K, 10K, kids races, and the Star Wars Dark Side Challenge which includes the 10K and half marathon. Those who finish the Dark Side Challenge will receive a Death Star-themed medal.
The half marathon course will take runners through Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios with a finish line at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Runners who want to experience both Star Wars races can participate in the Kessel Run Challenge and complete both Star Wars Half Marathons: one at Disneyland and one at Walt Disney World Resort. The Coast to Coast medal for this challenge will be inspired by the Millennium Falcon.
Registration for the Star Wars Half Marathon: the Dark Side opens September 22 at runDisney.com.

I am going to DL for Star Wars in January. I would love to go the WDW one in April. I may have to wait until 2017.
