When the days are warm and lazy nothing is quite as nice as settling in on the covered porch to admire the springs and enjoy a cocktail at Art Smith's Shine Bar. You'll find this welcoming spot tucked off to the side of Homecoming Florida Kitchen just waiting for you to drop in and stay a spell. Keep reading to learn about one of my favorite new spots for cocktail Friday!
Walking up to the Shine Bar you already feel like you're entering someone's home, the front landscaping creates a lovely patio area with comfortable chairs for friends to congregate and relax. When you walk through the sliding doors, you feel like you've arrived on back the porch. A casual spirit pervades the screened in area, as you breathe in the smell of fresh timbers it's hard not to relax.
Bar stools line an artfully designed wooden bar top with copper accents and bowls full of fresh citrus fruits. You just can't get much more Florida than this spot right here. Patio tables dot the screened in porch that wraps around the Shine Bar offering some fantastic views of the clear blue waterfront. At night floating lanterns provide delicate points of light that shimmer and dance on the springs.
The cocktail menu here is diverse and creative with Moonshine highlighting many of the specialty concoctions. The day my son and I visited Muleshine was our drink to imbibe. This twist on a traditional Moscow mule is made of White Lightning, peach puree, fresh lime juice, with just a splash of Ginger Beer. It's fresh and spritely, with a subtle punck that will sneak up on you if you're not watching it. Plus, the presentation is a kick!
That's hardly all that's good to drink though, if you have the time exploring the extensive cocktail menu could become a Homecoming habit. You can see the full Shine Bar Cocktail Menu Here, it managed to take the bounty of grandpa's still and elevate the hooch to something pretty special. Just take a look at a few more of the libations.
If you're just swinging by to pick up on the way back to your resort, and don't feel like hanging around, Art Smith's Shine Bar has a "To Go" Menu that includes fun cocktails and some of the Homecoming Florida Kitchen Favorites such as:
Those chips, by the way, are really fantastic. Thanks so much to our friends over at the Disney Food Blog for allowing us exclusive use of their shine images. If you want to see more of how the Shine Bar menu rounds out - head on over there to read DFB's Full Review.
