Take Home Your Own Gold Disney Christmas Tree - For Around $4 Million

In the market for a Christmas tree that's unique and inspired by Disney? The Ginza Tanaka jewelry store in downtown Tokyo may have just the thing - a Disney Gold Christmas Tree.

Gold Disney Christmas TreeGold Disney Christmas TreeThis isn't your usual lit tree; the Disney Gold Christmas Tree is constructed of pure gold. Eighty-eight pounds of the stuff were used in the making of the tree which also includes golden silhouettes of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Tinker Bell, Donald Duck and Cinderella as well as golden chain and ribbon adornments. Did we mention the tree also revolves?

Ginza Tanaka worked closely with Walt Disney Japan to bring the tree to life, and the tree is the result of two months' work by ten craftspeople. The Disney Gold Christmas Tree also is an effort to commemorate the anniversary of Walt Disney.

As you might imagine, this tree comes with a fairly hefty price tag - 350 million yen (around $4.2 million U.S. dollars). For those of you with more limited budgets, the jewelry store also has a smaller, silver version of the tree available; this Disney Mini-Christmas Tree costs $243,000.

Wouldn't you love to have this, simply because you could? I must admit that I don't find it all that beautiful, however if I had $4.2M to spare on a holiday trinket, this just might be it.

Good grief! Well, if I win the PowerBall and the $500 million, perhaps I will splurge...

But I agree with Kristen - I don't find it all that beautiful. I'd have a really different vision for a $4 million gold Disney Christmas Tree!

I agree I really dont think its that nice and a bit dissapointing really. Looks more like a cake than a tree, and isnt really that "Disney" at all!

If I hit the powerball tonight I buy it to display all year in my home at Golden Oak. :-)
