Disney's Animal Kingdom has officially become a new hot spot at the Walt Disney World Resort thanks to the brand-new nighttime experiences starting this weekend and the grand opening of Tiffins and the Nomad Lounge!
Tiffins is the first signature dining restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom and it celebrated a grand opening on Friday, May 27. Adjacent to Tiffins you'll find the Nomad Lounge.
The 252-seat signature dining restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner (and if you're on the Disney Dining Plan it'll cost you two table service credits). A "tiffin" is an Indian word for a lunchbox used by travelers (and it also means a mid-day meal).
Guests will enjoy an "immersive" dining experience at Tiffins as the restaurant celebrates the "culture of design and research" that went into creating the Animal Kingdom. The dining rooms are called "galleries" and each has its own focus. One gallery pays tribute to Asia, another to Africa, and the third (the Grand Gallery) is a tribute to the animals protected by the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
The menu at Tiffins includes appetizer like Lobster-Popcorn Thai Curry Soup and marinated grilled octopus. Entrees include Berber-Spiced Lamb Chop with Mustard Greens; Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Huitlacoche Tamale, Hominy Succotash and Red Mole Sauce; and Grilled Head-On Shrimp with Tomatoes, Roasted Fennel, Olives, and Sea Urchin Butter Sauce.
The beverage menu focuses on Africa, Asia, and South America and includes beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and more.
Adjacent to Tiffins is the Nomad Lounge where the theming focuses on storytelling and guests' travels in its themeing.
The Nomad Lounge features 55 indoor seats and 46 seats in a covered area outside. Guests can enjoy small bites and hand-crafted cocktails featuring African, Asian, and South American flavor.
Reservations are available for Tiffins online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
