Spring at the Walt Disney World Resort is bursting with color and new life, especially at Epcot - where lush gardens, inspired flavors and lively entertainment fill the days and nights of the 75-day Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Running from March 4-May 17, 2015 the festival is included in the price of your Epcot Park Admission, so be sure to take advantage of the extra fun.
Each weekend throughout the Flower and Garden Festival offers a different theme for learning. If you'll be attending on a weekend be sure to catch the fantastic presentations offered on the Greenhouse Stage and the Epcot Fresh Stage. Be prepared for what's going on while you're at the Festival - take a look at the map and read the Festival Guide before you go by visiting EpcotInBloom.com
Make the Festival Center in Future World the first stop in your day to find out all the special events going on! The Festival Center will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the event! Plus, this is the place to pick up a Garden Passport so that you can have it stamped at the Outdoor Kitchens as you taste your way around World Showcase.
Don't forget your camera! This is one of the most beautiful and inspirational times of year at Epcot. By having a camera at the ready (even if it's on your phone) you can document the gardening ideas that inspire you most. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and these will be perfect to inspire new creations at home in your own gardens.
30 million blooms blanket the park throughout the festival, and Disney magic isn't very good at stopping allergens. If you suffer from plant and perfume based allergies it's a good idea to pack some over the counter allergy meds in your day bag. With the Park in bloom you never know when you'll run into something that doesn't agree, better to be safe than sorry.
The Garden Rocks this Spring with a whole new concert series, featuring performers from four decades of popular music. All of the concerts take place at America Gardens Theatre, and are included with your Park Admission. Show times are at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Don't Forget The Food - The past couple of years, the Disney Chef's just couldn't manage to sit out the fun so they re-themed their food booths and came out for a celebration of Spring. The Outdoor Kitchens will once again be featured around World Showcase Lagoon serving up small plates of garden fresh goodness. Our tip here - set a budget as you eat your way around the lagoon, though there are fewer booths than during Food & Wine Festival, the costs seem to add up just as fast.
Be sure to stop by the Butterfly Gardens and follow the story of the Monarch butterfly's epic journey across the continent. Visit the Butterfly House to see 1,000 native butterflies representing up to 10 species emerge from their chrysalises to flit from plant to plant.
The Disney Horticulture team is famous for its extraordinary topiary. You'll find floral representations of your favorite friends from Disney feature films spanning generations. They're beautiful during the day, but at night they'll come to life with colorful lighting elements that add beauty and surprise. Be sure to visit your favorites both during the day and then again at night for a special treat.
This Festival is all about being outdoors in the beautiful Spring weather, but don't forget where you are. Be sure to wear your most comfortable walking shoes, and slather on the sunscreen before you hit the Park for the day. The Florida sun can sneak up on Guests who have been copped inside all Winter, read our previous article with tips to avoid sunburn.

Does the festival center have all the wine set up like they did during F&W? I would love to get some of the wines we are going to try :)
