Everyone takes photos during their Walt Disney World vacation whether those photos are candid shots, selfies, or group pictures. And while taking your own pictures is easy guests can also take advantage of Disney's complimentary PhotoPass service.
The PhotoPass service gives guests the chance to have their vacation moments captured by Disney PhotoPass photographers. As an added bonus you can link your vacation photos with others in your group and then view, share, and order photos.
The Memory Maker service is part of the PhotoPass system but it's not free. Guests can purchase Memory Maker ahead of their Disney trip for $169 or once they arrive at Disney World for $199. The service allows guests to collect, view, download, and share all of their photos linked to their My Disney Experience account.
Guests purchasing Memory Maker can download all their vacation images from My Disney Experience and share the photos with family and friends. All photos are available for "collection" for 30 days after Memory Maker is redeemed or the first content is downloaded.
By comparison, if you haven't purchased Memory Maker you can still view your Disney PhotoPass vacation pictures but you'll need to purchase individual photos rather than having the ability to download all the photos.
Disney's PhotoPass has a new feature at select Disney World attractions that will capture guests' experience on video. Attractions include the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
The Animated Magic Shots will add Disney animation to PhotoPass photos. At select spots around Disney World guests can ask the PhotoPass photographers for an Animated Magic Shot and once the guests view their photos at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com they'll find the animation has been added to the pictures.
In addition to the regular Memory Maker package mentioned above, Disney is now offering a Memory Maker One Day option that can be added to your one-day Magic Your Way park ticket for just $39. Guests purchasing this option will get a complimentary Magic Band and unlimited digital downloads for the one day including all photos captured on attractions, at meet-and-greet locations, and character meals.

Does Memory Maker include the RunDisney races?

No Linda, it does not. runDisney uses a special race photography company for its images, not Disney photo pass photographers.
