The house of the man behind Mickey and friends is now on the market. Walt Disney's Los Feliz estate, aptly named Working Way Residence, has been listed for $3.65 million.
Working Way was built in 1932 by Walt and his wife Lillian for around $50,000. Encompassing one acre of land, the gated and secluded twelve-room residence boasts four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The home also has a two-story living room and touches of Tudor, French Normandy and Mediterranean styles throughout. A library, sleeping porch, a billiards room, a playhouse, and two speakeasies can be found on the property as well.
Undoubtedly the highlight of the house, though, is the private screening and projection room. It was built for Disney by his studio in order for him to keep up on watching the dailies. Disney and his family might have enjoyed private screenings of movies such as "Gone With the Wind" and "Citizen Kane" and Disney classics like "Bambi" and "Fantasia."
Working Way Residence was featured in the January 1940 edition of "Better Homes and Gardens".
