The countdown continues with just 6 more days until the opening of the 21st Annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Guests will be able to find plenty of the most popular dishes from past Festivals at 30 Global Marketplace Booths. Being served up along side the tried and true will be 32 new marketplace dishes and 49 new cocktails, beers, wines, and ciders! If you're busy planning your "must hit" Marketplace Booths - don't forget to check out these new tastes!
The Greece Booth is always a popular stop along the Promenade, so be prepared for lines to match. In 2016 they'll be serving up two new dishes including Vegan Greek "Nachos" with Pita Chips, Meatless Sausage Crumbles, and Vegan Tzatziki. For dessert be sure to indulge in the Oikos Greek Yogurt Vanilla Cake Soaked in Ouzo with Yogurt Whipped Cream and Pistachios.
At the Desserts and Champagne Booth guests will be able to indulge in Hard Soda Floats. These fun and frosty dessert drinks combine Best Damn Hard Root Beer, Sprecher Hard Cherry Cola or Sprecher Hard Orange Cream Soda with creamy Vanilla Soft-serve for a nostalgic buzz. Non-alcoholic versions will also be available in Coke, Grape, and Strawberry Float flavors.
The Greenhouse Guru Marketplace Booth is an all new spot sponsored by Florida Greenhouse, Village Farms. Here guests will find Duck Confit with Creamy Polenta and Fire-roasted Salsa, an Heirloom Tomato Salad with Goat Cheese, Aged Balsamic, and Micro Basil, and a Chilled Tomato Gazpacho with Lump Crab Meat. With those fresh bright flavors, I have a feeling the lines here are going to be long, so you may want to try to hit this Marketplace Booth early in the day.
The Hops and Barley Booth located in the America Pavilion has a brand new beef dish on the menu. Stop by to try the Smoked Beef Brisket and Pimento Cheese Served on Griddled Garlic Toast. Pimento cheese is affectionately known as "The caviar of the South" and has become a very trendy menu item.
The Chocolate Studio is a brand new Booth making its debut in 2016. This delicious spot dedicated to decadence will be the new home of last year's favorite Liquid Nitro Chocolate Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey Caramel, as well as Red Wine Truffles, and a Ghirardelli Chocolate Raspberry Torte. Four Wine selections will round out the menu, including Rosa Regale.
The France Booth is looking to keep people cool with a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Ice Pop, and a Chocolate Caramel Creme Brulee; while the Belgium Marketplace pulls out all the stops by adding a Beer Braised Beef and Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes to their menu.
China's Marketplace has an exciting new Spicy Sichaun Chicken to eat, but I'll be stopping there for the introduction of the Strawberry Plum Wine Cooler made with Takara Plum Wine.
Other new tastes can be found at the New Islands of the Caribbean Marketplace Booth, which is replacing the previous Dominican Republic Booth; and at the Wine and Dine Studio Booth that promises to raise the bar on Festival dining with some remarkably elegant fare.
