Over on our Facebook fan page, we recently asked, "Do you buy souvenirs in Disney World? If so, what do you buy? Any special traditions?"
Several told us that they collect pins and pressed pennies.
Charles H. said, "We are not pin traders, but we get a pin every trip, typically of a ride we rode or the year. And get a few pressed pennies."
Neal H. said he gets "a pin from every resort, but it hard to find for some of the deluxe or moderate resorts."
T-shirts, sweatshirts and stuffed animals are common, too.
Dawn C. said, "We usually get shirts of the year we go. I also try to get a plush Mickey with the year as well."
Brandi H. told us, "My daughter always buys a stuffed animal. Usually a Minnie one. My son always buys Disney buses and trains."
Amy L. said, "I always buy a hoodie for winter and a plush Mickey for my puppies!!"
Other souvenirs mentioned included fridge magnets, writing pens, snow globes, refillable mugs, charms, Mickey Mouse watches, jewelry, purses, Vinylmation, a mask from World Showcase, picture frames, and unique resort-specific merchandise.
But the most-mention ed souvenir tradition in our poll was Christmas ornaments. Eight different folks shared with us that they make a habit of buying a Christmas decoration when the visit Disney World.
Jenn H. said, "As someone who doesn't like Christmas, having a bit of Disney on the tree makes it more bearable!"
Jeffrey G. We always get a Christmas ornament for each year every time we go!
Do you have a favorite souvenir tradition when you visit Disney World?

I don't travel to Disney regularly. But when I go on vacation anywhere, I usually buy magnets and shot glasses

Pins - minimum of one for the year, one (or six!) for any special events like MNSSHP, one for the resort if it's a new one to us, and one for a favorite ride; pressed pennies; and a Christmas ornament! Always!

I'm a pin person but I also have a large shot glass collection and I love the ones from Disney. I am looking forward to the ones I will be able to get from WDW.

I buy one nice picture frame to put my favourite trip photo in. I started in 2008, and on my 2010 trip I accidentally bought the same frame! They look great on my matching end tables in my living room, though. :)
Oh, I also like theme park related mugs. I have a great tomorrowland mug.

I like to buy a box full of Mr. Potato Head parts from the shop at the back of the Animal Kingdom Park near Triceratop Spin. This is a great little gift shop. They have some unique items you don't see in other shops. My Mr. Potato head has some unique outfits now. He sits on my desk at work and I get a lot of fun comments from co-workers when he shows up in some type of new seasonal outfit. This brings a little Disney joy to my office each day.
