A New Spin On An Old Favorite Mission:SPACE

When looking for a thrill at Epcot many guests head straight for Mission: SPACE. Since 2003 this exciting attraction has been launching guests into space for a thrilling, authentic, NASA-style Mission. Currently there are two different voyages for "trainees" ready to take on the X-2 Deep Space Shuttle flight to Mars; the Orange Team which experiences a 2.5 g-force inducing spin, or the Green Team which is a much more mild version of the experience.

Blast Off on a Mission to Mars at Epcot’s Mission: SPACE

If you've ever dreamed of being an astronaut and blasting off into outer space, there's an attraction at Epcot that you can't miss. Of course we're talking about Mission: Space where you can be part of a cadet crew heading into deep space.

Mission: Space opened in 2003 and was built in the former location of Horizons, which closed in 1999. The ride is meant to simulate what it would feel like to train as an astronaut for the first manned mission to Mars on the X-2 Deep Space Shuttle.
