17 Summer nights TR Complete

Good morning from Hyatt Regency Hotel, Orlando Airport yay

Firstly. thank you all for answering my questions as I planned this trip and generally just talking all things Disney, as I've picked up loads of great tips from you all. awesome I've always loved reading your trip reports, so to return the favour, I'm going to attempt a detailed trip report when I get back, but whilst I'm here I will try and post brief daily updates.

So, I'm Fiona and I've brought my 2 dds with me ages 13 and 10. We had a fairly smooth flight over and got our first taste of Disney Magic by going into the Disney store at the airport. We stayed awake as long as we could, eventually falling asleep at about 8pm (1am british time).

Woke about 4am this morning, too excited to go back to sleep. Admired the view of the airport from our balcony which is very pretty with all the lights. Will shortly be going for breakfast and then we're off to find the Magical Express to take us to Wilderness Lodge. clapping clapping

Day 1 -

We took an almost private DME to WL at about 8:30am, there was only us and 1 other family and they were going to WL as well, so we went straight there awesome

Checked in, had our luggage stored and spent some time reacquainting ourselves with WL - It was great to be home biggrin

Then headed to MK for our 3 FPs -
IASW - got front row in our favourite colour boat awesome
ETWB - DDs didn't want to take part but they still got to meet Belle and have a photo with her.
Buzz - got a score of about 413000, not too bad for 1st attempt laugh

Also visited Ariel as Georgia had her nails painted with an Ariel design and rode TTA on standby. Had lunch at CHH and tea at Roaring Forks. Finished a day with a swim in the pool and some time in the spa.

Highlight of the day - walking through the doors at WL,
Thoughts for the day - We LOVE magic bands and FP+

Tomorrow - Breakfast at CP and FPs for HM, 7DMT and PPF

Day 2

Crystal palace for breakfast was fun. Told Piglet that the sausages and bacon we were eating were vegetarian and told Eeyore that he was the No 1 donkey in WDW to try and cheer him up laugh

Came out of CP and heard the Main Street Trolley Show so watched that.

M&G with Aladdin - we were told that unfortunately Rajah was unwell so Jasmine was looking after him. When it was our turn to meet Aladdin I did notice a lady with an ID badge slipping into a side door. It wouldn't surprise me if Rajah recovered quite quickly and Jasmine was able to rejoin Aladdin for the next M&G session. wink

Rode Magic Carpets
Rode Jungle Cruise - we had a great skipper, it makes such a difference to have a good skipper. If they don't have that natural comedic timing it can be quite a boring ride, IMO.
Rode HM with FP - quite a few very unhappy young children in the stretching room. I was thinking it was surprisingly dark in there - then I realised I still had my sunglasses on laugh
Rode 7DMT - loved it awesome

At this point Georgia started complaining of her back hurting and it steadily got worse so we decided to skip our PPF FP and return to WL. I dosed her up with medicine and she rested for an hour or so. I got us lunch from RF to eat in our room. Once medication kicked in and G was feeling better we spent the rest of the afternoon at Hidden Springs pool.

Then decided to head to Trails End which seemed a good idea at the time! As we got to the boat dock it was clear that a storm was heading our way and the little boats were put out of action. As there were several guests needing to get to HDDR, they diverted a large boat to take us to FW. Unfortunately the storm reached us before the boat did and although we were all under the 'shelter' on the dock, nearly everyone got drenched. Thankfully I had some disposable ponchos in our bag, and the 3 of us huddled together and managed not to get too wet. Made it to Trails End and about half way through the meal Lucy started feeling unwell (tummy problems) so we had to leave pretty quickly. I explained to the server they were jetlagged as he was quite surprised we were leaving so quickly! All part of the joys of having children. The boats still weren't running so we got a bus back to WL which was surprisingly easy. We walked to the bus stop and a WL bus arrived 30seconds later awesome

Back in room now. Hoping we manage to sleep in till later than 4am tomorrow crossfingers

Highlight of the day - Entering MK before 8am, walking up Main Street without huge crowds
Thoughts for the day - Still love the MBs but they would be even better if they incorporated a watch

Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

Still woke early (3:20am) but managed to get another hours sleep before girls woke at about 6. So very slowly adjusting to the time difference.
Bus to AK arrived within 2 minutes of us reaching the bus stop, so, so far, we've not had to wait more that a couple of minutes for the bus we needed. awesome

We rode KS and watched FOTLK. These are prob my top 2 favourite attractions in WDW. We will be doing both of these again! Also walked the Pangani Exploration trail. Lunch today was at Tusker House. This was definitely our favourite meal so far. We all loved the food and meeting the characters - Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey. I had a discussion with both Mickey and Donald about who actually is #1.

Went back to WL with the intention of going for a swim but they had closed the pool due to an impending storm. Sure enough it started to rain shortly and continued for the rest of the evening, getting steadily worse, it's still raining now!

Went over to the Poly for a change of scenery and I had my first Lapu Lapu (non-alcholic, so my dds could have a taste) It was delicious and both dds loved it as well. Got drenched coming back to WL but it was totally worth it biggrin

Highlight of the day - Seeing FOTLK
Thoughts for the day - I'm actually enjoying the weather. The heat isn't as bad as I was expecting, and the rain hasn't affected our plans at all.

Day 4 - Hollywood Studios

Rode TSM. At the end I heard Lucy say 'that was the best thing ever!' - I think she liked it laugh
Visited One Mans Dream
Then found a spot in the shade for the Frozen parade. We had a bit of Disney Magic here. Georgia was Disney bounding as Anna today, she is a redhead with long hair as well. Anna's float happened to stop just by us and Anna spotted Georgia and commented on her having the same hair. Then had a conversation with her about whether she liked chocolate as well and a few other things. Georgia loved it muchlove I only wish I had recorded it but i was taking photos and honestly didn't think that we would get any more than a wave from her sad
Then we watched Muppets 3D
Then lunch at Sci-fi Dine in. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere but I thought the service was slightly substandard - I noticed other servers near by seemed more attentive and enthusiastic.
Then it was the Frozen Sing along. This was so funny, we laughed a lot and sang a lot awesome
We then returned to WL for yet more swimming and tea at Roaring Forks

Highlight - Anna picking Georgia out from the crowd
Thoughts - I'm loving the view from our room - last time we had a standard view overlooking the roof. This time we have a woods view over looking Hidden Springs (the small pool next to VWL). It was worth the cost of the upgrade.
