38 year old Mickey watch still working!!!

Year was '75 and I was in 1st grade, my dad told me if I would learn how to tell time he would buy me a watch. I worked so hard, he quizzed me over and over and I got them all right so off to Western Auto store to pick the watch of my choice. I walked up to the case and there it was. I never had to look past that watch. It had a red band and was so shiny. I wore it til 5th grade and it wasn't cool anymore. Not near that pretty now but it still works and still makes me smile.

OMG, I had that exact watch! Mine has long since gone sad
I think my dad bought it for me when he went to WDW in about 1978.

I love it. I always wanted a Cinderella watch when I was in grade school circa 1963-1969. I never got it but I made sure that I bought myself one when I was there 5 years ago.

That is when they made things to last. Too bad things are no that dependable anymore.

That's a very cool story.
I got a free Mickey watch with my D23 membership. It's two years old and doesn't work.

I hexed it!!! I got up this morning to wind it again( I do it about 4 times a year) and it's not ticking sad So I'm going to go by the jewelry store and see what the cost will be to fix that and see about the crystal being replaced. Even if its not worth the cost to fix it I can see making some sort of frame to hang on the wall or set on a shelf? Might start looking for other non working Mickey watches figuring out how to make it look like something.

Creative thoughts everyone?

I'd get it fixed if at all possible, they can do miracles.
