40th Birthday Dinner

Hi all! I'm going down in November to celebrate with my hubby. It will be my first NO KID trip to Disney and we are looking for that ONE SPECIAL dinner experience. What are some of your favorites? We are also wanting to try a couple different bars (gasp, I never knew there were so many until I started planning an adult only trip)

My husband and I celebrated our 40th birthdays at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary. The food was fantastic and the view can't be beat. Plus, if you dine there, you are welcome to use their observation decks on the roof of the Contemporary to watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom! It was awesome!

For romance my husband and I like either Yachtsman or Artist Point. Both very relaxing and great food. Also Wilderness has a great bar (Territory Lounge). muchlove

I really MUST try Jiko our next trip. I've heard great things about it but have never been there yet.

I'll go along with cali grill or Victoria and albert's, my favorite bars are (sorry King) the rose and crown, and the bar at the poly. If you want to go to dtd ranglan road is a great bar

I did one birthday celebration dinner at Cali Grill as well and would highly recommend for the atmosphere and view alone.

For my 50th we did BOG - I wanted something different and new and special, and that fit the bill for me.

I've heard lots about the CG! I would love to be there for the fireworks show1

We also love sushi, has anyone been to Kimonos in the Swan?

I would also recommend the Cali Grill, it is fabulous! Our first night this past trip we got seated in the new booths right by the kitchen. I loved it!

Artist Point or Cali Grill. Like MrHub, we sat in those booths and LOVED it. Our food was super good, too. Although, if you're looking for quiet and intimate, CG is not that. Artist Point, yes.

We haven't been to Kimonos for sushi, but my DH has loved the sushi at CG (see picture of dragon roll above in Mrhub's post) and we always go to Tokyo Dining at Epcot, which has great choices for sushi. There are also a lot of other choices for people like me that don't eat sushi. There are some pictures in both of our trip reports attached below if you wish to peruse.

If you decide to go with the California Grill, you could always hop on the monorail after dinner and hit up some different bars at the monorail resorts. Start at the Contemporary, then hit the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. I think this is something we are going to do on our Disneymoon in September. muchlove

Oh... I had that during our last trip. Delicious!!!

I didn't get a photo of mine 'cause I ate it during the fireworks show and the lights were basically off. LOL.

We loved Victoria & Albert's, we celebrated my hubbub's birthday there. They customized the menu with his name and told him Happy Birthday on his menu. It is pretty pricey but an amazing experience. awesome
