5 Glorious Days

yeah yeah DOUBLE DIGITS yeah yeah

In celebration of hitting the double digit mark, I have outlined our plans as of the moment. I am on the edge of my seat with excitement about this trip as it is just the 2 of us going... These 99 days can't pass fast enough biggrin

Me - Jen 39 going on 13 some days - I actually turn 40 after our trip but I moved the dates up for Food and Wine. I'm a kid at heart who refuses to grow up and act right. I work for an eye doctor who sees more patients in a day than one man should. So when I get a break, it is much needed and enjoyed.

Him - Joe 38 going on, well 39. waiting He's my rock and the one who keeps me focused. He found me during a low point in life and there hasn't been a bad day since. He has this wonderful goofy side that he brings out just for me and I can't wait to see what he does this trip.

So far plans are as follows. The hubby is pretty much leaving things up to me since it is my Birthday. We have also decided that since our anniversary is 1-11 and the cruise is in February, this is going to be a combo trip! Yay!!! 2 things to celebrate

Saturday I plan on getting an early start this morning. I am awake by 5:45 on a daily basis and I plan to use that to my advantage. I want to leave no later than 6:30 so showers and packing the car will be done the night before! A short 6 hour drive AND that afternoon we check into Pop Century! I am guessing the room will not be ready but that is ok. We will go ahead check in and check the bags, then time to get the Magic started. Heading to DTD for lunch and shopping. Lunch will be Raglan Road (unless we already ate on the road, which would be The Coop or Giordano's) then an ADR at Narcoossee's for dinner. I figured a nice relaxing dinner on our arrival day would be just the way to kick it off! Besides, ALL THE FUN starts the next day!!! ****No changes here! yay I kept something the same!****

Sunday The hubby doesn't think he can handle 7 park days (why did I marry this man eek lol). So then the plans are he is going to play golf and I am going to a park on my own OR we will visit several properties for drinks! Yea, there are several signature drinks that I have read about at the resort bars so I would love to peek around some properties while having a drink or two. Then to end the day with a late ADR at Via Napoli! See I will sneak in 7 park days! We are also going to get in a couple rounds of putt putt this day. I may or may not be VERY competitive with the hubby... rolling ****FP+ made for Character Spot, Soarin and Mission Space I doubt we will use all of these. Going later in the day to be there for dinner, made them to have the option) I also cancelled breakfast ADR at Kona for this day****

Monday Epcot! I plan on Mission Space (we have never done this because of Blondie), Soarin' and at some point ride Test Track. We have to hit hit Spaceship Earth because no trip is complete without it. I am also wanting to do the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land. Then on to the FOOD and WINE! I am beyond thrilled about this as I love to try different things from around the globe. Oh and let's not forget... Boyz II Men for Eat to the Beat!!!! **** FP+ made for Spaceship Earth, Test Track and Mission Space I took off late ADR because of all the yummy F&W offerings!****

Tuesday MK 7 Dwarf's Mine Train Peter Pan's Flight,and Haunted Mansion. Other than really checking out Fantasy Land (it had JUST opened last time we went and was packed) and catching the new parade, it's going to be a day of strolling, checking the app for wait times, getting cake cups at Cheshire Cafe and of course touching the mosaic slipper in the castle (what a cool idea!) I am also going to shoot for Rope Drop this day, something we have never done. I have been reconsidering this because of the Frozen Frenzy but we will see. (has anyone done this? Is it as bad as the stories say?) I am not going to be in that RUSH to see them so we should be ok. I am going to try to walk in for lunch to BOG, if not, Sleepy Hollow it is for waffles!!! We have a dinner ADR for the Grand Floridian Cafe. We will probably do the Monorail Crawl this night also! ****FP+ made for SEVEN DWARFS MINE TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Peter Pan's Flight and Haunted Mansion A first for all 3 of these rides *hanging head in shame for the last 2*

Wednesday AK Safari, Everest and Dinosaur I am sure we will wait for Everest a couple times, it's by far our favorite ride at WDW. Check out the Nemo and Lion King shows and really take some time around the tree of life looking at all the carvings. Blondie is too active to do that! I plan on making it a full day with a stop at Dawa Bar for adult beverages and relaxation. ADR at Yak and Yeti for lunch and Sanaa for a late dinner. We will have time to leave the park and go to the room for a bit before Sanaa. I do want to get there early enough to check out the resort. Probably another round of putt putt this night too. ****FP+ made for Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest and Festival of the Lion King Here's hoping the line for Dinosaur isn't too bad!****

Thursday back to Epcot - of course to eat more that we missed the first day! I love going over and strolling early before World Showcase opens. This will just be a leisurely day of walking/eating/drinking Smile I may FP something this day but would rather just relax and take things as they come. ****FP+ made for Soarin, Spaceship Earth and Mission Space only made selections so I can get on Soarin again Going to catch IllumiNations this night the only night I have a fireworks show planned at this point *hanging head in shame again waiting ****

Friday HS - Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, Toy Story and Star Tours are my must do - I also plan on making this a full day. We didn't get to stay long at HS last trip because of car issues so I want to do it all. ****Starting with Boma for breakfast this day then**** Drinks at Tune In Lounge and just watch the app for wait times between FP selections. I haven't decided on lunch for this day but we do have an ADR for Artist's Point *changed from 50's Primetime*. Then back to the room after to rest rest rest for the 6 hour drive home in the morning! **** FP+ made for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and Star Tours****

I plan on sleeping late Saturday morning LOL. Well as late as I can, check out at the last possible minute before heading over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for beignets then hit one of our favorite out of the bubble spots for lunch before the drive.

I am 100% sure there will be tears when we drive out of the park. sad It happens every time even when I say I'm not going to do it... I guess it will be time to start really planning out the cruise when we get home!!!! IF possible I may add a night in the bubble pre cruise! And maybe booking our next trip to the World! I have a little Blondie who LOVES the blue people movie (Avatar) so I guess we will HAVE to take her...

Must try items for this trip
* Cronut
* Pressed Brioche Ice Cream Sandwich
* Grand Marnier Slush
* Grand Marnier Flight (notice a trend)
* Lapu Lapu
* Sake Flight
* School Bread

******** F&W menus came out yesterday. Oh My Gosh... I have 50 different food items marked off to try and 36 "beverages" lol I think I need an extra full day in Epcot I may need to rethink the plan. Maybe take away the ADR for Tokyo Dining. I honestly didn't think my list would be so extensive. I am not a park hopper but maybe a day or 2 will end in Epcot now. ********

I'm drooling over your food choices! Everything sounds awesome! awesome Do you have park hoppers? If so, you could skip over to Epcot for that DHS lunch you haven't decided on to get in some more F&WF booths. When we were there in 2012 all of our Epcot and DHS meals were over at the F&WF booths. There is just way too much yummy stuff to try! awesome

I do not have hoppers. It stressesme out. I like to get in one spot and stay there. Depending on how it goes I may change my mind and do a couple mornings or evening in Epcot. Just going to play it by ear. I'm so excited!!!

I really need to work on narrowing mine down. Over 30 adult beverages... I wouldn't make it out of the park much less remember how anything tastes. laugh

I know I want to try several of the wines no matter what. Anyone have pics that show how much a serving of wine is???

We have a local restaurant who uses the fresh brioche buns from a local bakery on their burgers and sandwiches. Brioche is my favorite!!!! I can't wait to try these!

39 LONG days and counting. More changes and lots and lots of food!

We have officially decided to drive down Friday night so that we will have all day Saturday to play! We will either stay at a friends house (my favorite option) or get a room somewhere that is reasonable in price.

I originally had 50 food and 36 adult beverage choices selected. I have narrowed it down somewhat and feel a little better about budgeting after I have my choices for DDP snack credit picked out and what NOT to try. I took off several wines because they are things we can get here at home. Cabs, Rieslings, Pinots, etc...

Ok, I was just doing a total to add to this... I am at 52 food choices waiting didn't do so good narrowing that one down. Maybe I miscounted! The Adult Beverages are down to 13 (this is over 3 days) and does not count slipping into Tutto Gusto for a glass of wine or Mexico for a Margarita flight or the Sake Bar at Mitsukoshi oh and that little bit of heaven I can not wait to get a hold of, the Grand Marnier Slush at France...

ADR's have changed a bit also. I am STILL trying for BOG. Either lunch or dinner, I want to go!

Right now as it stands we have:

Lunch TBD Saturday (maybe Raglan Road)
Kona Cafe dinner Saturday
F&W lunch Sunday
Via Napoli dinner Sunday
F&W all day Monday
MK day going to keep trying for BOG lunch if not, we will decide on the fly!
Grand Floridian Cafe dinner Tuesday
Yak & Yeti lunch Wednesday
Sanaa dinner Wednesday
F&W all day Thursday
Boma breakfast Friday
HS lunch TBD Friday
Artist Point dinner Friday

Breakfast we are going to stick mostly to the resort or grabbing something at the parks. I'm not big on huge breakfasts on a daily basis so I only have one scheduled and that is plenty for me.

I am getting more and more excited and with so many of you there now and in the days leading up to our trip writing trip reports and reporting live from the bubble, it's almost at a fever pitch!!!!

Looks awesome...We are thinking of Kona Cafe instead of Whispering Canyon for lunch on our last day..I think my DS would prefer the menu choices...

Kona Cafe I can give my hearty recommendation for, Watchmaker! We love it! JMed, get the tuna nicoise salad at BOG lunch if you can manage it! My favorite counter service meal of our trip, hands down!

My goal was to get to as many resorts as I can for dinners. DDP is wonderful and I don't think I would be able to go without it again. My dance card is full so to speak!

Allie, I love love love tuna so that would probably be my pick if we get in!

Watchmaker, we are big fans of sushi and even though it is something we can get here at home, I really wanted something at the Poly. I had Whispering Canyon but with Artist Point, and no Poly in sight I changed. Hopefully I am done tweaking the plans for now. Although.... I keep seeing rave reviews about the Wave. ahhh, there will be more trips... sigh

I just got the email yesterday for the BOG fastpass for lunch and that was 23 days before our trip.. So don't give up quite yet on it.. Everyone was saying 27 days before so I got really sad when I still hadn't gotten anything, but then yesterday BAM! There it was!

YAY!!!!!!! Do you have to sign up for the email somewhere. I know we've probably beat that topic to death... LOL I have been trying the online one where you put in your confirmation number but it keeps telling me none available.

We didn't have to sign up for anything. One day, out of the blue, there was an email inviting us to FastPass BOG. Can't recall the timing, but it was fairly close to the beginning of the trip, definitely less than a month.

I didn't get an email at 27 days, I went and checked on the site at 27 days and it was open. I got an email a few days later. So at least for me, my window opened before the email went out.

JMed we have gotten invited twice by email on the day we got down there. I don't know if that is because they were doing soft openings or not back last year. Keep trying because you have to eat there at least once. It is gorgeous!! Good luck!! crossfingers

I didn't have to.. My Disney Experience still has my 3 original FP+ on it when I log in. And the Be Our Guest site has my lunch FP listed. The BOG FP+ isn't on MDE so I don't know if its just a totally separate thing or not..? Maybe someone who's used it successfully could tell us for sure.

JMed, no, you will not have to give up any fast passes for BOG, its a totally different fastpass. We have done it several times including the BETA test.

We also got to keep all three of our attraction FastPasses in addition to our BOG FP.
