60 days out Fast Pass selections

Well I just want to say am at 60 days out and I did my online check-in which went smoothly and when I went to do my FP selections my first day was already a disaster. Let me explain: at 6:30 am I was logged in and getting ready to do my FP selections. Well let me tell you it was less that stella. Here is why..for my very 1st day (Monday May 13) into MK I couldn't get anything I wanted. So how can that be? So I called and asked about why the Parade wasn't available ( just one of the FP's I wanted) and the CM tells me that they only allow a small number of FP's for the parade as it is a small viewing area. So I said ok I was trying to do this at 6:30 am on 60 days out and can't do it any sooner so should I have got up at 1 am to do this? Of course no answer. Guess I just needed to vent. Now when I got to Thursday May 15 my 1/2 day at Animal Kingdom I could not get It's Tough to Be a Bug until 12:45 pm...no AM available at all. And of course we will not be there at 12:45 pm as we will be back at Epcot. So I will loose 1 of my FP's as my girlfriend will not do water rides/ Mt Everest or Nemo. Arghhh...is all I can say. I know last year when I went in October I had no issues with my FP selections at all and I didn't think that the time am going in May was their 'busy' time so I don't get it. I think we should get 4 FP's a day and we can use up to but not more than 4 a day at any park we are in. So I think they need to re-think how this works!!!!! Sad
Sorry just venting I guess...very frustrated.

You don't need a fast pass for Its Tough to be a Bug- I've never waited more than 15 minutes for that show

I'm not a fan of FP+ either

The Colonel I didn't think so but the issue is you have to select 3 and my girlfriend will not do wet rides/Mt Everest and doesn't want to see Nemo so I had to pick something for my 3rd FP selection and that was it. So I just feel that seeing you can only do 3 FP's a day/same park now I will loose one. So that is upsetting. If they would let me carry that to Epcot life would be great. I know it is a thing with me that I feel am paying for this and now I'm out one. So I feel like am being robbed. Still sadness here.

I feel your pain. They wouldn't let me do any FP+ selections because at the time I didn't have admission media. All I had was a voucher to exchange at the park for an annual pass. So I didn't get any FP selections.

I had to live by my wits and get by as best as I could.#FirstWorldProblems

Did you attach the voucher number to your reservations? We had the same problem for our trip this past January. It was only allowing us to do fastpasses for the first day of our trip, 1/24 because our AP's ran out that day.

I renewed our AP in Nov, got our vouchers a 2 months before we went, attached the voucher number on the card to our reservations and that allowed us to make all our fastpasses. Your voucher number is just a confirmation number showing you are renewing your AP.

The changes are so disappointing and it really feels like there is no effort to address our concerns on the limits of fp or park. I'd like to spend a few minutes in the board room to explain my concerns.

Eh. It'll be interesting to see how it works for us. I had no problems with scheduling MKingdom or Epcot, but I was hard pressed to find three things to FP+ in AKingdom and Studios. It was irritating to not be able to have FPs in one of our parks on a given day after paying extra for a Park Hopper.

I really believe it's going to make lines longer for high profile attractions in AK and Studios, because many people are not going to want to give up three FPs in MK and Epcot / waste three FPs in AK & Studios.

You're concerns might be put at ease. I can't say what but changes are a coming to fp+.

At the risk of sounding old and miserable, I HATE FP+. Back I. 1994 when we first visited the parks and pre internet, social network, blogging, YouTube days. The only way you knew what was popular in the parks was from talking to people who had been before and getting tips or from one of the unofficial guides, there was no fast passes and you just had to queue. I'm sure you all remember it. It was great!

The big issue I have with FP+ is that it picks a third ride even if you don't want three. Now I'm going in October and every year I have been then most rides are a walk on apart from the headliners. If we take Epcot for example my plan will be to FP+ soaring, arrive at rope drop and head straight to test track. The is nothing else in the park I have ever needed to fast pass but FP+ is going to give me 2 attractions I don't want, so because it's there I'm going to add on space ship earth and maelstrom just because I can, why not? But then these attracted stand by line is going to slow down because people will use the FP+ option for no reason.

This happens at universal studios, because you can buy an express pass, people go in the express line with out thinking and the wait times end up longer then in the stand by for rides like spider man and the simpsons. It's madness,

To me it seems more effort to mess about with FP+ to get a good time for toy studio mania then it is to get up early! get the bus! be at rope drop and wait in a 5 min line. The whole system is flawed

Interesting read here...All our past five trips have been in July..To be honest, I can count in one hand how many FP we went for..This year will be our first time in October so I'am hoping it's a bit quieter...Here would be my proposed FP list..AK...KS..Epcot...Soarin....DHS...Toy story mania...MK...Buzz...That's it...

Yes I tried everything. I was on the phone with them for what seemed like hours. Maybe they fixed that glitch afterwards because that was for our Sept 2013 trip. Also I had that DVC voucher for the $399 annual pass, so it wasn't strictly a renewal. It had a crazy voucher number with too many digits. Frustrating.

I don't like the idea of FP+. It just seems we are doing too much planning, which I enjoy to a certain extent, but it's sucking the spontaneity out of our vacation. Maybe it's good for commandos, but at this point, I like to fly by the seat of my pants and have some freedom in my itinerary.

But I can work with it.

Hi Magic Days boy I would like to be in that board room as well so if you get an invite just let me know. I think just like any company it is always the higher ups that make the decisions when they no nothing of how it works or doesn't work.

Sigh, how frustrating. I have no personal experience with FP+ yet so I can't speak to it's effectiveness, but solely based on what I've read and heard from others, I'm not a huge fan. Mostly because of what Phil brought up about people "wasting" FP just because they're forced to choose 3 and this slowing down the standby line. A friend of mine was there a few weeks ago and said the standby line was 60 minutes for HM! WHAT?! During a slow season? I know Disney is working on it and that more changes are all a part of the rollout process, but it's disappointing to hear how many people's entire vacation is negatively affected in the meantime.

Side note: I do realize that not everyone's vacation is negatively affected and some love the new system which gives me hope. It just makes me sad to see the big backlash this program is seeing.

I think the reason you couldn't get a parade FP+ is that I believe the FP+ selection window for those are 30 days out, not 60? I've read that several places.

And for the third FP, why feel the need to use it? Just schedule it and do It's Tough To Be A Bug during the time frame you wanted without FP+ since the only line is basically waiting for the next show. I know it seems unfair to "take" one if you aren't going to use it, but if Disney is forcing you to take it then I wouldn't feel bad about skipping out on it. I did that with legacy fastpass a few times, where I'd take one and then just decide to do standby on a whim.

I haven't had a chance to personally experience FP+ yet, but I will say I like certain aspects of it and others leave a lot to be desired. I'm excited to see if any changes happen before my trip in September and how that may make me enjoy it more.

Being an anal rententive control freak who like to plan everything out, I have to say I like the concept of FP+, but there are a few things that can be improved.

I would guess that since it is still rolling out, they might be trying to work out the kinks before they begin multiple park/single day selections. I can also see the benefit of getting MagicBands into the hands of all the groups they intend to before they expand to multiple park reservations on a single day.

It's a new technology, there is always going to be adjustments needed.
