ADR day

So today hit 180 and I took the day off work to do my online bookings... waiting except the site wouldn't let me do it if I stayed as UK English. I tried and zip just the normal days, I did get a "tiny bit" upset and then remembered reading something on another site about how you have to change to US English and it worked, well nearly. So the minute I could call I did and I got the most fab CM who was calm, reassuring and just lovely.

I have booked in no particular order. Cali Grill brunch, Cinderella Royal Table, Garden Grill (breakfast), Morimoto Asia, Hoop Dee Do, ABC Commissary, skipper canteen, Chef de France

Still cannot book. Plaza Garden Firework Party, Fantasmic Brown Derby, Tiffin Rivers package.

I have also got........... Victoria & Albert Chefs Table to celebrate G 50th sadly not on 3 Jan (some rascal had it booked) but for the 4th except their IT system went down and I am waiting for them to confirm so it can go onto my plans but she has verbally agreed it so I have to wait and trust Disney.

Overall feel quite happy especially Cali Grill. clapping

That's awesome! That is so frustrating though when you make sure you are online and ready for that window to open and glitches happen! Can't wait to hear about your Victoria and Albert's experience. We're looking at this for Jon's 40th birthday next year.

We did it for my 50th in 2013 and it is worth every cent.

Allie, we have done V & A also, but not the Chefs Table. It is wonderful but it is a lot of food!! Scrappy was done by our third course and we still had 3 to go plus dessert!

I agree we were like puffer fish by the second dessert which was the most fantastic chocolate mousse with gold leaf. I felt fine took one mouthful and poof I couldn't eat any more. You pay for the experience and the two servers.

Thank you Mr Hub I thought it would be harder to get the times/days we want as it is busy. Happy about Cali Grill brunch as the reviews are all good. I know you and Scrappy like it for dinner but we had a horrible time when we went in 2013 so let's hope this is better. Today managed to get the Fantasmic/Brown Derby package today, still trying for Tiffin/Rivers of Light package and the dessert party for 30 December

You lucky thing, wish we could see him. We had Robbie Benson last year who was dire

Spoke to V&A again today looks like their IT issue is because they are probably putting up the price! We shall see

That's ok! Being too full from delicious food is a good problem to have in my book!

So jealous! I LOVE Neil Patrick Harris and I am yet to have been able to coordinate being down there when he is scheduled!

Today has been a good day. I finally managed to book the Plaza Gardens dessert party for the fireworks on 12/30 and my V&A confirmation came through. Looks like same price just the if you don't turn up cost is $150 where I think it was a $100 each before.

Oh and I made my final reservation today. Feel incredibly lucky as I have booked everything at the times I wanted and am genuinely surprised as it is a very busy time of year. X

So I just posted about this elsewhere...

I am typically really rigorous in our WDW planning, and we have traditionally had little problem getting Dining Reservations or most fastpasses -- since we always show up 180 days/60 days in advance of our reservation. But 2 things were super-weird this week:

1. Our upcoming trip starts New Year's Eve. July 4 is 180 days shy of that, and our account reflected that. (For reference: http://www.easysurf.cc/ndate6.htm)

So imagine my surprise when I showed up on the morning of July 4 to make a dining reservation, and many New Year's Eve restaurants were already sold out. In fact, dates were already open, and I was able to book, through January 3. So I made some reservations, and we did get something for New Year's Eve, but not what my family originally wanted since a lot of stuff is already sold out.

Now I show up (early morning July 6), and I can only make reservations through January 2 -- which is more what I would have expected, but completely inconsistent with what I just saw. Especially since I have, in my account, a reservation for January 3 which in theory shouldn't have even been available yet.

Have people seen weird behavior of this sort before ?

And is it like Fastpass+ in that I should keep checking back for other reservations to open up -- even on a high-demand date like December 31 ?

2. About a week earlier, my daughter and I looked at "Choose Your Magic Bands", and all that was there was 8 solid-color bands. It SAID that there were supposed to be special other choices, but none were there.

On the morning of July 4th, there were 28 or 32 choices including lots of custom bands. But my entire family wasn't around so we didn't make any selections.

Now -- early morning July 6th -- everyone is around, but there are only 23 choices. A number of the others are gone, and a few have been replaced with other new choices. Including, of course, at least one that my kids wanted to choose. Again not the end of the world exactly, but just so weird!!

Have others seen inconsistent behavior like this ?

Or other weird stuff with the website/WDW system that I should be aware of or concerned with ?

All info appreciated and thanks!

Are you in the US? If so don't know why you can't book the 10 days, I've had no issues getting everything loads of available restaurants. If you are outside switch your language to US English and it should open it up.

The magic bands have been popular so they are there one minute and gone the next. I know people who think they have got them, get charged and then they get emails saying sorry not there.

Personally I think MDE has been horrible to use and is pants at the moment.

Keep trying and good luck

So we spoke with Disney Customer Service today and it was kinda explained, but still odd.

On the dining front: Our stay is split at 2 different resorts, so we weren't 180-days out from our 2nd stay yet. Further, since people arriving sooner can book their entire stay...which explains why New Year's had a lot of restaurants sold out already. On the other hand, when we checked yesterday we were only able to book through the 2nd, even though we had already booked on the 3rd, which still feels like a system bug.

Meanwhile on the Magic Band front: Every time we check the site, there are different numbers and types of Magic Bands available. Some are the same, some are different, and some are missing. Whenever we try to choose any, we get a "can't process this request now, try again later". The agent explained this as a "out of stock" problem, which may be true, but it definitely feels like a system bug as well.

I definitely would have expected much more clarity and smoothness on the site -- we have never had any problems with it before.

Hi Mike - we had the same issues with ordering the Magic bands. We found that they refresh the inventory on an unannounced, random cycle - they will add and remove bands as they well out of replenish you really just have to keep checking.

I also and the glitchy "Can't process try later" and called customer service - while on hold thought I got it to work and take my order. I can't remember what we did - it was either we switched browsers, or changed credit cards, and it went through.

I got my Sorcerer Mickey band few days later awesome

Hi Sally-Ann, so sorry about your experience at the Cali. I have had a few meals that were not fabulous, but never really had a bad experience there. Hope you like brunch. We did do that once but to us, that was a once and done.

Have you been to the Brown Derby? That place is awesome. We love going to the Derby. Hope you love it!

Yes we have eaten there twice and love it. Very happy as I have managed to book Tiffin ROL package and the dessert party for 12/30 at MK Plaza Gardens so no having to spend hours queuing for the Fireworks Smile

Everything is now booked had the V&A confirmation through as well so now nothing to do until end of October
