Adventures by Disney Adds More Sophisticated Fun for Adults

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/05/adventures-by-disney-announces-egypt-itinerary-growing-global-vacation-portfolio-for-2020/

For those travelers who haven't made the jump to trying an Adventures by Disney vacation because of kids in the tour groups, I'm happy to say that ABD is adding to their adult only activities in a variety of countries around the world.

As part of our expansion of adult-exclusive departures, new programming will be added to select itineraries in 2020 to further tailor the experience for adults. These vacations offer the all-inclusive, hassle-free fun of an Adventures by Disney trip for travelers seeking sophistication, variety and adventure.

New adult-exclusive programming includes:

  • Behind-the-scenes museum tour in Egypt
  • Ceviche cooking class and artisan beer tasting in Costa Rica
  • Culinary walking tour of Athens' central market in Greece
  • Behind-the-scenes experience at a Sichuan "face-changing" opera in China
  • Premium five-course meal with cocktail pairings in Australia
  • Mango-carving and coffee-tasting activities in Laos
  • and a private nighttime excursion in search of the Northern Lights in Iceland

Does this make you more likely to try an Adventure by Disney?

I wouldn't say it makes me more likely to try it, but I do appreciate the option. I'm really hoping to do the Norway trip some year. I have noticed they offer an adult only one which I would probably go for. It was cheaper too awesome

I would like to do Greece with ABD, but it's out of the budget. I think I'm more likely to do their shorter itineraries.

I would love to do the Egypt one. Maybe if I hit the lottery.

The ABD trip we were on in January was adults only - quite enjoyed that. We did the Hollywood & Southern California trip. If we did plan another ABD, I would definitely opt for the adults only ones first.

Joe and I are looking into this for an Italy tour. I like the idea of adults only but man they are pricey. But you also get what you pay for and I love the planning they do for you.

They are indeed pricey, but you're right, you pay for Disney "vetted" accommodations and tours. Not only is the planning done for you but you know that where you go will be up to the Disney standard. Every time we go someplace not Disney my husband grouses about how spoiled we have become being Disney travelers. That Disney stamp of approval means a lot.

I had a friend do the ABD tour in California. They did a couple days in Disneyland and a couple days in Hollywood, my friend loved it a lot. I had another friend go to Germany with ABD and also loved it. I'm pretty sure they would both do another tirp with ABD.

That's good to hear! I don't have any close friends that have done an ABD yet.
