Anniversary Trip -- spend the money on the hotel or on the food?

Dilemma!! I love staying in luxury (don't get to do so very often), so we're wondering if we should throw our budget at a concierge room or suite, or if we should book a few more extravagant meals (and possibly stay one more day).

Thoughts?

How often are you in the room? If I had the choice to stay an extra day at a value or moderate and get the best meals I would opt for that over a deluxe

So would I. We hardly spend any time in our room anyway so as long as it has the basics we're happy.

I would shoot for somewhere in the middle. If concierge level or a suite are considerations, perhaps you could still stay at a deluxe (just not concierge or a suite) then still have the extra meals or extra day. Should be able to find a way to have your cake and eat it too:)

I really don't get concierge. I like staying at the deluxes and I like relaxing in the room quite a bit, but I still haven't heard any feature of concierge that makes me think it's worth the extra money. I'd rather have a nice dinner and give up turndown service and chex mix or whatever it is they give you. silly

I'm going to be different and say go for the luxury. Since it's a special occasion I would go for it.
Especially if you go down to the World a lot..hmm..but I love food though...oh this is tougher than I thought..but I'll stick to my original thought..go for luxury! It's nice to be pampered!

I agree with LIFL. Do a deluxe, but not concierge and put your concierge money towards dining.

First question to answer is, how much will you be at your resort? If you spend most of your time away at the parks then I'd opt for spending on food and staying at Pop Century.

If you spend a fair amount of time at the resort enjoying the room, grounds and pool then I'd spend it on resort. If your budget limits you to a Moderate...definitely pick Port Orleans for the romance.

Of course I've had some trips where I didn't plan to be at the resort much, but when I got there it was so nice that I wound up spending WAY more time there than I planned.
