Another general trip about "the" Florida

Perhaps you are still unfamiliar with the Sunshine State. Maybe these Floridian ways are new to you. Here is another tip for you from us. During your trip, if it is more than one day, there is about a 100% chance of rain. So those odds tend to suggest you will get wet. Please plan accordingly. I hop you feel even more enlightened.

That's not rain - it's liquid sunshine.

Nope, looking outside. No sunshine in sight.

HA. Too true.

We live in Pensacola, Florida...We pretty much get rain at least once a day between 2 and 6. It could be for 10 minutes or 10 inches (seriously). Last June in a 24 hour period, we got 13.11 inches dumped on us. Not the record for Pensacola. That is 15.29 inches in 24 hours. But we usually get around 70 inches of rain a year on average.

My rain gear (golf) goes with me everywhere I go, especially on holidays and even more so to Disney. Bought my wife some this year. Much better for us than ponchos.

I asked a cast member one time "what time is the 3:00 parade?" and he answered "right after the 3:00 rain shower" Big smile mickey

We were there from July 6 to July 12 and it didn't rain much at all, I was actually hoping it would.

How is the weather there in September?? I have been looking into May of 2014, now I want to change that to September...but am not familiar with Florida... When is the worst time to go to the world?

WHAT!?!?! Is there such a time?

Obviously the heat and wet weather months are from June until late August. November through Christmas for obvious reasons can be crowded. Although we went once the week after Labor Day and the crowds seemed to be much lighter than normal. It is still plenty hot. But from what I can recall, the wet stuff didn't come down as often or as regularly as it normally does in June through August.

October seemed to be pleasant the last time we were there that month. Most are still in school and the weather is starting to turn cooler.

Spring time can also be wet weather and a lot go to Disney for Spring Break as well.

Just my $0.02 on it.

My general advice is for everyone-and mean everyone-is to stay till Labor Day. Wouldn't want you to get washed away. I am simply thinking of you all.

I've gone the past 2 years in May (first week) and it's hot, but not oppressively so. Two years ago we had no rain. Last year we had showers two days (which were our AK and Epcot days) and a MONSOON one afternoon (while we were at Sea World). However, all of it lasted less than 30 mins. In Sea World, by the time we stole trash bags from the trash cans to put all of our purchases in, the rain was already tapering off.

BUT if I had to pick, I'd go in Sept the week after Labor Day. NO crowds. I mean NONE. I walked on to rides, walked in to table services restaurants. You may get lucky and get free dining too!! clapping

The rain stops after late August-early Sept and the humidity disappears in Sept also. It's still 90 but with like 0% humidity. Big difference. At least that's how it worked out last year anyway.

It's not like that every year Mandy believe me. We were there a few years ago in September and even the locals were complaining how bad the humidity was and it was the last week in September. Everyone was going back to there rooms by 11am to change into dry clothes. It was horrible. But it never stopped us or ruined the magic.

It could of been in Oct when it dropped. I just remember waking up one day and it was much cooler then what had been and I could breathe. Granted it was still in the 80s or 90s.
