The rumor mill has kind of dropped off when it comes to any new information on this. I heard November 2015 opening, which obviously did not happen. I am so excited that this might potentially be open for our February trip, but there has not been that much information out there.
The last thing I saw (below) was that Skipper Canteen would open in late 2015

"Park News - (11/12/15) Disney has confirmed that the Jingle Cruise has returned to the Magic Kingdom for a third year this week. Meanwhile the previously confirmed Skipper Canteen restaurant is said to open before the end of 2015, so keep your eyes peeled. It wont be long now"

You should be good for your Feb Trip. Guess I'll have to plan for a Mar visit 
We could use more eateries at the MK. 
Skipper Canteen is open today. Lots of foodies and friends are posting right now that they are there for the soft opening!

oops, forgot to post the menu pic. I just checked MDE and it is not showing available for ADRs yet... Menu looks good. Waiting on confirmation from those that are there if there are adult beverages available or not.

According to the Disney Food Blog post on Facebook the drinks are currently non-alcoholic.
Yea, there was another post that they are not available but drinks are being served in the copper Moscow Mule cups so maybe in the future? They look awesome and I want one.

I am kind of meh on the food choices now after being really excited for the restaurant to open. The desserts look fantastic though!
It WOULD open two days after we leave. Now I GUESS that I will just have to book another trip.....

I'm not too excited about the menu so far...but I will have to go anyway! At least dessert is up my alley!
I'm so excited about this! I'm not entirely sure what I think of the menu, but I can always order the grilled chicken. This is absolutely a MUST stop for me the next time I get down there.
It's showing up on MDE (online and the app) but you can't make ADRs yet.... I am waiting patiently and checking often so I can get in when I go in February!

Has anyone heard when they might open this place for advance reservations? I think right now they're only doing same day.
My understanding was that their intent was to leave it as same-day only in an effort to make at least some table service dining more spontaneous, but given the fact that this is a brand new restaurant and we were able to grab a walk-up table with no wait right at noon, I could see Disney re-evaluating this idea. The food's great, by the way!

We had no issue on a Sunday at noon. Earlier is better they told me. The food was very good, a bit pricey. The Bread and Honey they provide is out of this world! We had the Fish collar app, this could easily be a meal. This is a place where two or three apps could make a very good meal, and help with the pricing.
