Anyone using the free dining in 2011, or the gift card or general public discounts they've just announced in 2011? Seem like some pretty good deals!

We're still doing the math, but I doubt we'll use any of them. Discounts I can't use just make me feel like they're going to make the park more busy and do me no good!

Yes Annie, we have booked a room in the Poly for a week in January using the room discount rates. This ended up being the best deal for us because we are annual pass holders.

That's awesome!! You guys aren't going DVC this time, eh? I think that's one of the biggest arguments AGAINST DVC is that you'd have to think long and hard before booking the Poly! 
I've never stayed there and would love to!
Looking forward to hearing about the trip.

Nope, we are not using DVC for either our Sept or Jan trips. We used all of our points already this year between taking our friends in Jan and our boys in June. We did not want to start borrowing so we are just paying for these two trips. We do not usually go as often as we have the past two years. It just ended up we had two major celebrations two years in a row and then decided the time was also right to take a family vacation.

We're thinking of using the new discounts for an April trip this year. Still checking the schedule around work and family stuff.

We are using the dining in September 2011, staying at POP so we are paying an extra $10 per adult per day to get the regular dining plan.

How are room rates in September booking this far ahead? I've never booked a trip so far in advance.

We do the whole package through CAA TA but they are running around 95 weekday and 105 weekend (for a preferred room)
