These are amazing. I always knew Disney made beautiful cakes, but I guess I never realized the level of talent at the bakeries there.
The problem is: The pretty cakes never taste good! You want an ugly cake from an eating perspective in my experience!

Really?! I'm pretty sure, if there's cake in front of me, I'm eating it

I agree with cdub: Cake is for EATING!!!!! First and foremost it has to taste good! From watching Ace of Cakes on TV, it looks like a lot of the sculpting is done with modeling chocolate, rice krispy treats, etc. I admire the artistry of the cakes, but I would rather have a quality pound cake with butter cream icing!
My wedding cake was simple....lavendar background frosting, white piping (reminded me of wedgewood) with hidden mickey's in the swirls (Not a Disney wedding, but could not resist a little extra magic)....topped with our initial in crystals......beautiful and soooooooo yummy!
Did someone say buttercream frosting?!??!?!?! (must go find cake...)

You're spot on here! Every time I watch Ace of Cakes I wonder why they don't just make it out of plastic.
