Be Our Guest..New Policy...

I've checked but can't see anything about this new policy..If you fancy a chance of dining here but don't have a FP, then check out today's Disney food blog...It's a big article worth reading..

It's the same process they've been testing for Soarin' and the Anna and Elsa meet and greet. It's going to be a running of the park guests for those return cards for Anna and Elsa and then, a run straight towards Be Our Guest restaurant if people really want to eat there.

I've also noticed that if you try and FP the lunch it only goes up to 2 October. Has anyone else looked and found it to be the same?

link for the lazy..

I don't know how I feel about it. I think I'm just doing to try for FP+ or bust for BOG lunch. Not worth the headache for me. I usually prefer to eat my lunches later in the afternoon so I wouldn't like having to limit myself to a 15 minute window that they choose (although it says they were asking people for times that would work for them, but i'm sure that just means the best times will be snatched up immediately). There are so many fun things to do in Magic Kingdom that I don't want to stress about lunch.

I totally agree with you EmFord..Just take a look at this photo.. eek ...I wouldn't even wait in this line if they were giving the food out for free..

It really wasn't that bad. We weren't bothered if we ate at Be Our Guest or not but we had skipped breakfast and were hungry and looking for brunch/early lunch so we just joined the line at 10.30 and said we will wait 20 minutes, if we are not in, we will go somewhere else. Twenty minutes later we were inside. It is very pretty and the technology is clever. However, we thought the food was poor - more details in my up and coming trip report.

All the weekends that we go to WDW we check out the BOG lunch line and it is always really long, except at around 10:30 am. Since we are never eligible for a lunch FP+ because we don't stay on site, I am looking forward to testing this new return time card at BOG. I think it would be great if we get a chance to eat lunch at BOG without waiting for an hour or eating lunch at 10:30 in the morning, which is way too early for us!

I wouldn't do it. I don't want to eat anywhere that much.

I wouldn't rush for it. I'd probably check on my way by to see if any were left if I was unable to get a FP. I'm in no hurry to eat there. I want to check it out eventually. We don't have any time this October trip but maybe in January or next fall.

We did wait in a long lunch line for BOG back in December. We really wanted to try it and we didn't get an ADR (I didn't try that hard because to be honest, Table Service dining isn't a huge deal to me. There are so many different things to try and I don't feel like my vacation is ruined if I don't get that year's "it" restaurant), so we hopped in the standby line at around 10:00. We were at the end of the bridge near Gaston's Tavern. They let three other families join the line after that and then they cut off the standby line. We waited 30 minutes for the restaurant to open. Once it did and the line started to move, we were inside with food ordered within another 30 minutes.

When we went in May, we were about 3 or 4 families back in line. We had arrived about 10 minutes before the restaurant opened. I took this to mean that the mad rush was dying down and eating here was becoming a more reasonable proposition, but if they are handing out return times now, maybe that is not the case.

I believe the cards are due to the queue being an unsightly mess, we ate here last may we got in line at 11:30 and by 12 we were in and eating. Its great! the food is so-so but the restaurant is stunning! its more like an attraction and something every fan needs to do once. Now what i will stay is at 11:30 we were on the bridge in the 'queue' by 11:40 the queue was down pass Gaston's tavern....I believe that this is a imaginers nightmare, Disney hate queues outside and ones that lead on to pathways like this, because its ugly. return cards will tidy up the area a lot.

I'm trying for 24th September for FP and if a theory i read somewhere on here is right that they become available 27 days before arrival this should be in the next few days so I will let you know how I get on!

That was me. I have no idea if they go up 27 days out or not, mine just did. The point of my theory was that each day opens up individually, not your whole trip opens up at one time. So if you see the first day of your trip open up, check tomorrow for the second day, etc.

If we can't pre-book the FP to get in then I might try doing it this way, there's no way I could stand in line for that long, I'd end up gnawing on my own limbs!

the 27 day theory worked!!!! I booked mine this morning but I will say when I logged on this morning they only had 1pm onwards which was later than what I thought but I booked it anyway, went into try and change for earlier and they had 11-11.30, it wasn't perfect but I would go with it after booking that slot went back in and perfect time 11.25-11.55 so changed again!!!so.............story of this tale if they don't have a time you want book it anyway and go in to try and modify it there are a lot of slots available and if you are willing to go through the process a few times you get what you want (also if you reserve your food it does give you the option to transfer your food over rather than doing it again!)

phew hope that makes sense!

plus Allie is right it is 27 days from the date you want to book so right now you can only book up to 24th September
