Berry Lynn's Trip

Greetings All!

I want to start with thanking all of the "regulars" on this site for their wonderful stories, tips and photos! I am so glad I found this site. I may not post often, but I do read your posts and they have gotten me thru the last few months with smiles and lots of tips for this trip.

So we are driving to Orlando from Baton Rouge LA where we picked up our friend Alan. We will arrive Saturday and we are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in a 2 bed/2 bath condo we got for free! I have been reading reviews on TripAdvisor and I think it should be OK. (Alan's sister in law has a time share so we got lucky)

I am typing this in the back seat as we hit Pensacola...

I will do my best to post during this trip as I truly enjoy reading others posts while they are there.

Can't wait to get there tomorrow!

Started driving this morning but Red was bored, so here I am in the back seat again...lol! Almost to Tallahassee...gettin closer! Weather is gorgeous!

I am a total amateur when it comes to posting...y'all are so good at that...will do my best.

My parents have stayed at Bonnet Creek a few times and been very happy there. And how bad can it be if it's FREE??? Lucky you! Have fun!

We stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek two years ago. It's a lovely timeshare resort and has its own fairly decent bus service to and from the parks. Not as good as Disney transportation, of course, but better than any other Orlando timeshare resort we've stayed at.

But a warning about the sales pitch. If you don't have to sit through it as "payment" for your free room, DON'T. If you do, find out up front how long it's supposed to last, get it in writing, take that paper with you, and HOLD THEM TO THAT TIME ESTIMATE! Two years ago, we didn't have to sit through the sales pitch (we were there on a timeshare exchange), but we did it for the freebies and because the woman at check-in SWORE it would only take 1 1/2 hours. WE WERE THERE FOUR FREAKING HOURS! Every time I thought the guy was winding up, he'd walk us to what I thought was the place where we would get our freebies and instead show us yet another amenity. By the end of that four hours I was so pissed at him for taking so much of our valuable Disney time I wouldn't have bought from them even if they'd told me I could have a three-bedroom penthouse unit for $1,000. So beware, keep one eye on your watch, and don't let the sales pitch go one minute longer than they said it would!
