California Grill or Citricos?

We already have an ADR for California Grill, but I notice that Citricos has mussels on the appetizer menu! But Cali has sushi! But Citricos offers an AP discount! But Cali has that beautiful view!

Wherever we end up, it will be a first for us. Both is not an option because we've already booked a week's worth of ADRs, all places we really want to go.

So, for those of you who've dined at both restaurants, which would you choose?

Can't help with the comparison since we've not made it to California Grille. But as a major foodie, I was impressed with Citricos - not a clunker dish in the bunch (even dessert, which is never WDW's strong suit). Wine pairings were great. Open kitchen. Great views if you're seated next to a window.

Did I mention the food was fantastic?

Also can't judge on both..We did CG on our last trip ( 2012 ) I have never had Sushi but decided it was now or never..Awesome..It was even better than my main course which was also awesome...

I have eaten at both and was a little disappointed with Citricos. The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice, but to me it just didn't meet my "two credit" expectation.

For what it's worth, my Signature TS ranking in order:

Bluezoo
Il Mulino
Citricos.......Arancini, short ribs, and chocolate-banana torte were all very good.
Jiko
Flying Fish
California Grill......I have only tried the goat cheese ravioli and Spicy Kazan Roll, both of which were very good.

I would choose Citricos for a quieter atmosphere. Have a drink at Mizner's before/after dinner and enjoy the band.

I had the short ribs at Citricos and I agree, they were excellent. I was displeased with their Arancini though, I found Via Napoli's to be much better.

I agree with the drink at Mizner's and time listening to the band. I often stop there before heading over to the California Grill. Okay who are we kidding - California Grill just happens to be the last stop on my opening night monorail crawl laugh

Can you just pop into California Grill's bar for a drink? Might have to do that...

Put a vote in the California Grill column for me. Food is awesome and you can't be the atmosphere or the view!

You could before the redesign, I don't know what the rule is now.

My vote would be the California Grill. We have dined at both. I agree with Kristin although Citricos was good it was not worthy of being labeled signature. We will go back but we pay out of pocket. I would not use two tables credits for it on the dining plan.

We agree with Scrappy. Citricos impressed us the first time, but subsequent visits have been not as wonderful. California Grill has never let us down, except with a dessert or two that were 'meh'. Citricos is very nice and is quiet and relaxed. Obviously we've gone back, but not every trip. Cali Grill is no doubt our every trip go-to!!

My vote would be Cali Grill all the way. I have always been amazed by the food they serve. The only problem I ever had was this trip and that was that, the Dragon roll I used to get has been cut in size to half of its original because people on the dining plan complained because it was not an option. They also kept it at the same price, so here are the differences.

Before

After

This is the only thing they did this to, so those worried about the Spicy Kazan Roll, it's safe (for now) from what I was told, but there are always changes.

Seriously? It's half the size but the same price? I'll be sure to order something else.

Another vote for Cali. I went to both in February and while Citricos was good it didn't impress me nearly as much as Cali. I still dream about the charcuterie platter!

The final decision is stick with California Grill.

Hubby was leaning toward Citricos because of the annual pass discount. I was leaning toward Cali because of the sushi appetizers, although I'm sure I would've loved the mussels appetizer at Citricos. But the deciding factor was time - the ADR time we already have at Cali is better than anything we can get at Citricos at the moment.
