Carolwood Pacific UN-meeting October 2-4

I copied this from the Carolwood-Pacific website. The society likes an informal gathering, so they call it an 'UN'meeting, and theirs is coming up in October at Disney World. If anyone is going to be there during this time, you might want to see if you can get involved. Getting to meet Michael & Sharon Broggie would be worth it. (Michael's dad was Roger Broggie)

Won't be there but I'd love to be. Any day in which you meet even the offspring of a Disney Legend, is a good day in my book.

And Michael does a GREAT presentation on Walt's railroad.

Last summer, we actually waited for the 'Roger Broggie' to come around so we could say we actually rode on the one named after his dad.

It's the only train named for someone not of the Disney family.

I made a special visit to the Carolwood Pacific room on my last visit to the World, It was in early Dec. of last year, as I am a model railroading enthusiast, and I was disappointed with the small amount of memorabilia in the room. Could they have removed some of the artifacts and items in the room to make way for the Christmas decorations. If that could be the case, then I would make it a point to return in mid Jan next year when I return. There was one display case along a wall and that appeared to be all.

I love this! I wonder if the steam train tour will still be an activity now that they've cancelled it for the time being due to the monorail investigation.

Also, is there a website? Am I missing it?

There's not a huge amount of stuff there. You may very well have seen all of it. Part of the appeal for me is the room itself which is usually quiet and relaxing.

Michael Broggie is pretty serious about this meeting. You might email him from the Carolwood website. I know they do this meeting regularly.

I'd also let him know the guy at Disney isn't following thru.
