has anyone used mears? I am going to try it out when I head down there.

Didn't know if there are any tips and helpful notes for using the service.

Thanks

We did try it once when we were stranded at Orlando airport because of a big "snowstorm, Blizzard" in New England, It was a way to get back to WDW and we just went to the Disney store at the airport and they called to check on the availabilty of a room for us, told us we could even have the room that we had just checked out of since it had not been re-assigned. We then walked to Mears and had to wait about thirty minutes for a van going to our resort. I forget what the rates were and yes tips are "gratefully accepted" by the drivers.

Rico, will you have a car available while you're down there?

Hey Rico! I've used Mears a couple of times (that's actually the same company that runs Magical Express for Disney). They're perfectly fine, comfortable busses/coaches. You might have to wait a bit (usually not over 30 minutes) for the bus to leave, but it's a very good service. Very reputable.

My only problem with Mears is that once on a shuttle from the Cruise Line to the airport, the driver wore us out hinting about the fact that tips were a major part of her livelihood.

I usually tip without asking, but I told my wife that day if a Disney exec heard the "over the top" reminders of tipping, this driver would be history.

Service is good tho!

Disney doesn't even pick you up from the airport? Ouch! Maybe you can hitch a ride on a DME bus! laugh I wonder if you could hitch a ride with someone from one of the boards?

Eh, you'll find buddies with a car soon enough! Do you know where you're living yet?
