Cast Member Appreciation: How do you let them know that you care?

Over the years I've seen several fun ways to thank cast members for their wonderful service. I'm curious, do you do anything special for extraordinary cast members while you're on vacation?

I always make sure my tip envelopes have thank you notes on them, but I've heard of other people giving think you cards (business card size), special pins (what would walt do), and even just calling a manager over to make sure they know a cast member is doing good. Have you seen any ideas online for this that have sparked your imagination?

How do you let them know that they're appreciated? How do you think that you could make a cast member's day?

When the one cast member let my son keep the the paint brush he sent him a pic of my son holding it and such. I guess his boss got wind of it, and promoted him. He has a desk job now, and doesnt get to interact with the peeps much anymore, but my Dad sent him another picture of the final product (Its somewhere on this forum), and he reminds every cast member that he talks to on how important we are, and how we can create a magical experience for them, like they do for us.

I have found that a sincere "Thanks for everything, I really appreciate it" goes a long way.

That usually works for me too, although sometimes it's worth repeating it to a manager or supervisor when someone really goes beyond the call.

I usually follow both Vettelover's & Tony's advise. I always get a picture of or with the person too so I can remember their name and If I e-mail someone about it I can send them a picture of the person.

Very good idea mrhub, and with today's cell phones that most people carry, it's something that is easily done.

I always make sure to say thank you to the cast member so they know how much they mean to us! When a cast member helped us out with my son's broken foot and made sure Minnie and Mickey signed his cast and got us a big marker to keep, I stopped by Guest Service to let them know how great that was.

This guy was the funniest cook we ever had at Teppan Edo! First of all he is 100 % American and swore he was Japanese. He also said he forgot his name tag and stole someone elses. Talked fake Japanese to all the other cooks and they looked at him and acted like he was crazy.
