Congratulations on your new "property!"
welcome home!
Thank you both, we are beyond excited! We got all our legal papers yesterday and spent all evening signing! Now we get to send it back and make it official!
They did send us our temporary DVC cards and our DVCmember.com logins...so that was pretty cool!
Soooo exciting!
Thanks for the congrats!
It's something I'd been deliberating about even since before I met Joy. So much so that when I called last week to join, they still had me in their computer system!
I'd decided against it though, a few years back when I would've had to go in alone. Now that I have another Disney Freak in my life, it was a no brainer!
Our home resort is Animal Kingdom Villas which doesn't open till May 1. If you buy into a resort that hasn't yet opened, Disney gives you 160 Developer's Points, which are basically free points to use at SSR. So that's where we'll be staying in January. We've already got two shorter trips planned for later in 2009 as well.
Many congrats to you both.

Whoop! Let us know how you like owning the magic!
I'm really jealous that you guys get to go in January. I wish the timing was better for us, because I'd really like to capitalize on the low crowds and low prices. I feel like I'm missing a golden opportunity to visit!
Agreed!

One thing that is really exciting for me, as silly as it may seem, is that for the first time in my life, I'll be purchasing an annual pass. In all my years of going to WDW (and DLR for that matter), I've never had reason to buy an AP, cause I've only been twice in the same year once or twice in my lifetime.
With the DVC membership though, buying an AP (at a discount) makes financial sense for the first time.
I think an Annual Pass and the Disney Dining Experience are required equipment for any WDW trip. I usually cluster my visits so as to maximize the value of my AP and then when it runs out is usually when I have my "droughts". So I might go 4 times in 12 months, then not go for like 4 or 5 months before I buy a new AP and start the process again. What does it take, like 9 days to break even on the AP?
Can we crash at your place?!?
