Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Anyone?

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2017/03/opening-date-set-for-copper-creek-villas-cabins-at-disneys-wilderness-lodge/

Anyone thinking of a Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge purchase?

I'm not in the market for more points at the moment, but I would like to stay there some time. I really like the modern take on the woodsy decor.

Does anyone here own at WLV? Will you have an 11 month windows at these new units?

I just did a virtual tour, I now NEED to own there! I love it muchlove I've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, but I've wanted to for quite a while. I love walking from Trails End at Fort wilderness to the lodge.

Now to just get our mortgage paid off so I can buy more points gaah

I think the purpose of giving the two sections different names is to prevent current VWL owners from accessing the 11-month window at Copper Creek and icing out all of the new owners, so I would suspect that current VWL owners will have to slump with the 7-month window like the rest of us! I just used the last of my 2018 points for a reservation this October, so we are in the market to add-on with a target of 2018 for a purchase. I WANT to buy at Poly, but depending not he remaining inventory, we might have to do Copper Creek (which would be just AWFUL, right??). We definitely want to pick up a small direct contract so that if we ever sell off our SSR points our discounts are protected.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the resorts to sell out of points? I'm a little nervous about Copper Creek selling out by the time we're ready to buy (at least 3 years).

I feel like Poly has been out for a solid 2 years and they still have direct points left. I want to say that AKL lasted at least 4 years, but that's also a huge resort.

So we may have a chance! There will prob be resale by then anyway though laugh It surprises me that there are already Poly resales

That would make sense to me. I think that is how it happens at Saratoga Springs vs. Treehouses? I'm not 100% sure though as I've never tried to book a treehouse.

We have a total of 185 points, and I would really like to get to a total of 250. However I don't see that happening super soon. I really hate having to balance my points between the two different contracts I have. That 7/11 month thing just aggravates me to no end. I hate having to juggle the dates in my head and which points I can book at what time. Luckily out Grand Californian contract is only 25 points per year. I think if I did end up adding on more points I would really want them to be at AKL, but we use our points to cruise so we need to have full benefit. Can use resale points to cruise?

Well then, I guess I won't be doing that. Which means I'll have to either come up with the money to purchase outright from Disney up front -or- suck it up and buy at another new resort. I suppose that if I financed a big enough contract at a second resort it wouldn't annoy me as much as my 25 at VGC does. However I was really looking forward to not having my big DVC payment soon. We're down to just a year on paying it off and I was looking forward to having the extra cash in our budget. LoL! First world problems.

We are thinking about it. It is our favorite resort and would be the perfect place for us. We have been weighing our options and hope to check them out on our next trip.

While I think this resort is beautiful and grand, I wouldn't purchase here...We live in Michigan and the feeling at this resort is too much like our 'real' home ... I would want a topographic opposite ..something along the lines of AKL or Poly......
