Disney Commandments

I was hoping you'd start this thread after I saw your other commandment!

MUST agree with the "there's no time to be mad!" People are sleep-deprived and stressed to the max at Disney World because they're doing everything possible to make it the best vacation ever. As a result, they're on edge and irritable all the time! Poor them. Maybe a nice smile will make their day!

Here are a couple of mine:

Thou shalt plan at least one sleep-in day

Thou shalt try to avoid having eyes that are bigger than your stomach

Thou shalt eat ice cream and buy giant mickey balloons whenever you want

Thou shalt take a nap every day

The first one is one I've always followed and I can't imagine not doing it. The second one I haven't done enough. They have so many good cast members it's hard to stand out but we've had some great ones in our day so we really should take some time to give them some kudos.

How about

"Thou shall not try to do EVERYTHING!"

@Caitie: I'm now trying to imagine what your bus experience was! There always seems to be untoward bus stories, like when that one bus started driving somewhere else in Florida! Didn't the cops have to stop them?!?

Thou shalt not stop and stand right in the middle of the street to gawk at things?

Which leads you to practice Caitie's commandment to smile at other guests no matter how irritating they are being.

I love these. I couldn't agree more with them. I could do a better job with commending great CM's tho. I have only done it twice. I really need to take the time to do that.

Thou shalt be willing to try new foods at new restaurants (go Boma!)

Thou shalt only use FastPass for worthy rides (why Stitch's Great Escape has one...)

Very good point. Why tie up your one fastpass with something you can walk right on most of the time?

i'm not entirely sure why stitch's great escape has a line at all...

Annie's commandment "thou shalt not have eyes bigger than thy stomach" has a corollary:

Thou shalt avoid that limbo between "pleasantly full" and "movement is possible but not a good idea".

And then wy don't they have one at The Haunted Mansion? We were there in December and the wait was 60min+ And we did walk right on Stitch too

After arriving at WDW Thou shalt (After Check in) go directly to the Magic Kingdom.

Thou shalt not eat at the same restaurant twice.

Thou shalt remember that WDW is a big place and to plan to avoid wasted travel time.

Thou shalt get at least one picture with Mickey.

Thou shalt try something new.

Thou shalt not mix night and morning magic hours (Thou needs sleep)

Thou shalt wear sunscreen (for thou is fair skinned and burns)

Thou shalt never pay for more resort than thou is going to use.

Thou shalt always carry a small bag of supplies for the hotel is a long and dangerous trek away.

Thou shalt always triple check what thou packs for sunscreen is like gold in WDW and will cost you many moons wadge.

Thou shalt never skip an attraction thou wants to ride for it may be in rehab next trip.

Thou shalt be back.

That's a good list Marzyar. Unfortunately I violate several. The last is pivotal! Probably my biggest transgression is I routinely eat at the same place twice. Even on trips when we don't have two of the same meals planned, one will just blow my mind and I have to go back.

One trip, my DH went bonkers over BlueZoo. I think we ate there 3 nights out of 6 Come to think of it, the trip before, he did the same thing & we ate there twice.

They did try a FastPass lane for HM before. But because of the layout of the queu, they couldn't find an effective way to run the fast pass lane. It parelled the stand-by lane too closely & people were flippin out about it. Too many guest complaints so the axed it. The pavillion for the FP machines is still there.

The eating at the same restaurant twice thing is problematic too. We do it all the time and there are several scenarios:

1.) The first trip isn't that great and you don't want to go back.
2.) The first trip is amazing so you're excited to go back and then it disappoints.

We've had occasional visits where both trips were great, but usually it can be a too much of a good thing situation. That doesn't mean we probably won't do it next time though!
