Allegiant Air

Has anyone ever flown Allegiant Air? I heard a story about them on NPR this morning and was just wondering. They seem to be the most no-frills of them all, but are turning a profit while everyone else isn't. Would love any insight.

Gosh, just saw this thread! My aunt and uncle fly Allegiant all the time from Pa - Fl t visit their daughter. The only problem I'd see if you want to fly Allegiant to Disney is that Alilegiant flies into Sanford airport not Orlando - so no magical express, yo need to rent a car.

I've heard a lot of good things about them recently, but had never heard of them prior to the past couple of months. I checked and they don't fly out of any cities near me. Maybe they'll expand since their doing so well right now?

Yeah that's my concern. Even if you're renting a car those tiny airports can lack some of the usability of the bigger ones. Of course they can also be REALLY quick to get in and out of.

My aunt and uncle love them and have never had any issues with them and they fly often wink

Yep. One thing the guy said on NPR that I was interested in was that Allegiant won't stay at an airport that isn't profitable. They'll just pack up their toys and go home.

i'm sure they get much more favorable leases in those smaller airports. i doubt you can get any kind of short term lease in larger airports. the only drag with the regional and small airports is that they can be located inconveniently and have poor transit.

The airport by me (Lehigh Valley International Airport) is convenient, lol - too bad I don't fly!
