Disney decorating

When decorating a room around a Disney inspired theme, should all the pictures on the wall be the same colored frame? I have some pics that need to be framed but some look better with a black frame (like 101 Dalmations) and others perhaps something more fancier (like Aristocats or Lady and the Tramp). I'm doing my kids bathroom in "Classic Disney". I've got some pics to hang up on the wall - Robin Hood, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, and the Aristocats. Any suggestions? Thank you all!

I think you should try matching the frames. Like maybe the same style if you can't go with the same color. I hope this makes sense.

It isn't necessary that they are all of the same color. However, according to my on style, you can either go all the same color, or all of different colors. The latter will make it look more eclectic and even more fun, while the former will make it look at bit more elegant. So it depends on what you are going for.

I would say that since these are Disney-theme prints, and you are doing the kids bathroom, it should be OK to go with eclectic and fun. Frames of different sizes and different colors, especially when grouped together, will be quite eye-catching.

For my Disney room, I had a mish mash of frames that did not match at all - either in composition, color, style, etc...so to pull them all together I decided to spray paint them all black. For the look I wanted, it worked perfectly.

I like to use "art ledges" in my rooms so I can change the pictures easily.

You can't tell in the picture, but two of the frames contain prints showing the front and back of the WL.

Your home decor is really a personal choice. I learned by reading decorating magazines that I need subtle structure. I match my frame colors and I am much happier. If I want to make it more elaborate I use a more impressive frame or pull colors by layering the mating but all the frames in ones eye shot are the same color.

I really think it depends on the room, theme & your taste. I have an over the top home office that I decorated using Disney & Mickey specifically. I took the color scheme from Mickey so I have three bright yellow walls & one red one & black furniture. Once you add in all the Disney pictures, prints & other decorations it's bright, bold, busy & fun. So to help tie everything together & help keep it all grounded all the furniture is black & all the picture frames are simple (so they don't compete with what's in them for attention) & black (to tie everything together & ground it a bit). I think if I didn't have all the black in the room between the furniture & frames it would be way too busy & colorful to be enjoyable but as is with all the black it doesn't seem to be either one.
