Disney on EBay!

Well I got what I had been bidding for on eBay the past week or so. I know most people wouldn't get a thrill out of this but I've been searching for these for quite a while.

The first one is a Pre Opening license plate that was sold at the Preview Center for WDW before it was built. Disney had to cancel it after a short while because it looked to much like a regular Florida license plate. This one was given to me by some very, very dear friends and fellow Disney Lovers. These are very very rare and collectible.

The next two are the ones I just won on eBay. Theses were the replacement plates they sold after the blue ones, still very collectible and hard to find. The first one was sold by someone in Tennessee and the second one was in Australia. The one from Australia is unopened, still in its original packaging. This one we had quite a bidding war for last night. These were the first two things I ever bought on eBay, I was having a fit trying to figure out this automatic bidding crap, but I'm very happy now!

What Disney stuff have you bought from eBay? Got any tips on buying or selling?

The blue one actually is mounted on the front of scrappy's car. We get quite the looks from CM's and often comments and questions as to we're we got it. Many have said it bring back memories from when the park first opened.

The green ones are cool, but that blue one is incredible!! Congrats on finding and winning it. clapping

We don't use eBay that much (a clear "Danger Will Robinson!" site for me) so no tips or tricks here. Last thing I bought was the Yeti popcorn turner pin to add to the ones I was able to trade for at DL.

those are super fun! Winning auctions is addictive. I had to take a break but I used to be quite active on Ebay (I worked back shift at the time, so shopping at 330 in the morning was tempting when there was nothing else to do on your nights off...careful it's a slippery slope)

but those are awesome!

Those are awesome! I am an ebay-lurker, but have never actually bid on anything. I agree with petriedish - it is a slippery slope! Bidding for me would be like eating chips - just one more, just one more, it can't hurt - totally dangerous!

Thanks all, yeah I felt the slippery slope and grabbed a rope! So I'm good, but we will see what else comes along. Maybe I'll have to stat a Disney eBay fund to slide with.

But you know me. I love eBay. I have bought a bunch of pins and such on there. My father though... he LOVES buying Disney Ornaments on eBay. We have some cool ornaments from him. I think we have posted some on here somewhere. But for me... its usually pins thats Disney related that I get. But havent in a while... and Jess likes that... lol

Those plates are awesome. I've only bought a few items on ebay and I didn't have to keep bidding. No Disney items though or anything near as interesting. awesome

Nice win! I don't sell but I've bought plenty of Disney stuff. Mostly pins from Hong Kong and most recently a Disney infinity Sorceror Mickey from D23. I'm more of a buy it now girl but will bid on occasion.

The plates are fab. Now this next comment is no reflection on Scrappys driving as I don't know how Scrappy drives it is more a reflection on other drivers!...... But you are brave putting them on the car I would be worried about accidents. I would have it on a wall somewhere safe!

I am scared of eBay, I don't get the incremental bidding. The statue was stunning though.

Update
Still waiting on that last license plate I got that is coming from Australia. I got my money back through eBay, but the sellers insists its still coming. Its been about a month now, so it doesn't look to promising. I just hope another one comes up now since I've missed several really nice ones waiting for this one.

Don't give up hope yet. My son had to ship something to Australia a couple of years ago - sent it by DHL courier, and it still took over TWO weeks to get there! If your plate wasn't sent by courier, I can't imagine how long it would take.
