Disney Heaven..

Hello everyone..I'am not sure how to go about this story,it's kinda weird, yet wonderful..Last year I attended a funeral for a young girl, I think she was around middle 30's, who suffered a brain tumour, and sadly passed away..Her parents asked the entire church to applaud at the end as her coffin was taken out and put onto the hearse,to the song of " Life is a Highway " from Cars...She was a huge Disney fan, and had a few vacations at WDW staying at the Poly..Now last week my DW started a new job after ten years working in a school, and had a night out with the girls to say her goodbyes, and one of the ladies was the mother of the girl who passed away..She told my DW about this little Robin bird that starting coming in the kitchen in the morning when they left the door open, and of course, they fed it with bits of bread..Then one day after putting down some bread the bird didn't appear but there lying on the floor at the door entrance was a ring that their daughter had bought at disneyworld..She had lost it in the garden some years ago..It doesn't end there...They took the ring up to the grave and placed it in a cask that held some favourite things she collected, and on the following Sunday when they went to put flowers down as this was exactly one year since she passed..A little Robin bird was perched on the grave stone..Now this story sent shivers down my spine..I hope it's not to morbid but I thought I'd tell it anyway..

I think that is a beautiful story. So many mystical and unexplained things happen every day (like the pixie dust in Mr Hubs car) - you just have to be open to receiving them.

I agree with Miss Mikki..our world has so many wonderful things that go on around us we just have to be open to them. As children we believe in everything but when we become adults we tend to not believe...unless we are the adults that love Disney (as we always find our inner child at Disney). And the Watchmaker am glad you shared the story.

A very touching story. It's stories like this that really show the power and magic of Disney brings to so many people.

Great story! Thanks for sharing!

I heard about a similar story. It also involved parents losing a daughter (not sure the age), but she loved going to a certain park. She really loved watching these white doves. After she passed away, a white dove started hanging around her parents house. I forget how long it hung around but it was quite a while (a few months maybe). The parents believe it was their daughter letting them know that she was ok and everything would be fine and that she came back as the dove so her parents would know it was her since they were her favourite.

Thanks everyone for liking this story..My DW at first said I shouldn't be putting this onto the site as some people may find it a little on the morbid side, but there wasn't a dry eye at her funeral, and I'll never forget everyone standing up and applauding the coffin as it went out the church..( I hate funerals at the best of time ) ..It was decorated in Disney stuff...But when I heard that story it took my breath away..

That was a beautiful story muchlove It was a wonderful way to begin my day. My Dad passed a few years ago, but I believe he still sends signs that he is watching over us. I hope the family draws comfort knowing that their daughter is still with them in spirit muchlove

As our minister has said repeatedly, there is more to the world than we humans can imagine, so stop putting limits on the possibilities of what we don't know or understand. He's rather modern that way in that we can all have religion of our own choosing, but no matter what road you take understand that any "holy word" (and he is a devout Methodist) is based on ancient words written by men in an ancient time. Look around you and see how those words apply today and the possibilities are only what we choose them to be. Those doves, that robin, or what other way out loved ones choose to reach us from across the bridge, can be there if we open our eyes.

Thanks for sharing and reaffirming what I have believed for some time.
