Disney Magic Headed into Dry Dock This Fall

So, Disney's Magic class ships are headed in for a dry dock, staring (I believe) with the Magic this fall. Disney hasn't released any details yet, but its a 6 week dry dock with an extended 8 day time on it's trip back to the states that won't have passengers.

Yesterday I discovered a great DCL fan blog that's intelligent and smart with wonderful original content. The author was able to uncover some potential design plans and it seems like there could be some big things in store!

Though there are no pictures of the possibility for the staterooms, I read that they are getting a complete overhaul (hopefully) to bring them more in line with the Dream class ships. Tori and I are booked on the Magic in February '14 with an inside cabin and I've got my fingers crossed that they'll be adding Magic Portholes!

What do you think of the plans? What would you love to see them add or remodel on the Magic?

I heard they were going to overhaul the buffet to make it more like cabanas on the Dream/Fantasy. I've never cruised interior cabins. We booked 2 for our June cruise on the Dream and I'm excited to see the fun character stuff.
We sail on the Magic in Sept 2014, I'm looking forward to sailing on the classic ship.

I'm super nervous about having the inside cabin. My oldest daughter wants to apply for a job with DCL next year (you have to be 21), but she's never been on a cruise before. I pretty much asked for the worst cabin on the ship. LOL! We need to see if she can handle the motion and a small enclosed space, we're on deck 2, one of the walls is up against the elevator. I may be miserable, but I'll just keep reminding myself that we're there for a purpose.

Was just on the Magic a couple weeks ago and where we had a magical time, there is definitely room for some freshening up on the ship. Absolutely needs new carpet and port holes need to be addressed among other things. I'm glad they're taking the time to do this. WTG Disney!

A couple of years ago one of the ships was dry docked here in town. I am such a dork, every time I drove by it I would wave and say HI MICKEY MOUSE. mickey

A friend of my daughter is a performer for DCL and she is in a quad. We had pictures from her but I can't find them. If I do I'll message you

She must be on one of the newer ships. The Disney Cruise Jobs website has some great pictures of the crew rooms, so Tori has gotten to see them on camera. The smaller ships are doubles and triples. They look like there's only enough room for one person to be standing up in them at a time. LOL... Tori's still excited though.
