Do you find that you "wait and see" more with DTD restaurants?

When it comes to Disney restaurants, I figure they're Disney and they're going to be around a while, but when it comes to DTD, I always think "I'll want and see if they last." I'm in no hurry to check out Pollo Compero or any of the other new things until they're "time tested." But I can't WAIT to try some of the new Epcot restaurants.

I've never thought about this! We don't really wait and see; we try out new stuff right away. Though, now that you mention it, we should probably let things "marinate" for a while so they can work out the kinks.

I guess it's the appeal of the restaurants..the ones at DTD seem neat but the ones opening at Epcot just seem better. I'm not sure why that is.

I'm with waiting out the kinks. Figure out how to do everything, and what works and doesn't, and then I'll stop by. I've been in Pollo Campero twice now without eating...just not ready to commit if it's not good. I guess I'm an uber cheapskate (or far too concerned about food. Or both.)

The only bad thing about waiting is that you might miss out on the really innovative things that they do at the beginning, that they eventually discontinue because they're not popular enough. Sadly, lots of things I like seem to fall into this category.

I'd say we do about the same. There are quite a few DTD restaurants we haven't made it to yet, but I'm not sure if there's very much on the rest of the property that we haven't tried.

I guess maybe it's just the case that DTD tends to open the more "questionable" offerings like T-Rex, so I'm less apt to rush over to try them. It just seems like being in a park or a resort is a vote of confidence, whereas being in DTD just means you bought a spot there.

Why is t-rex questionable? I've never been, but I enjoyed Rainforest Cafe and T-rex sounds like the same thing but with dinosaurs?

I thik thats the problem..most people think Rainforest Cafe is a little overpriced for mediocre food. You pay for the atmopshere there. I happen to like it though.

Yeah, I love the atmosphere. I think I may have said before, but when I was a castmember me and the other CMs probably went to Rainforst Cafe more than any other restaurant in Disney. I can't wait to try the pre-historic version at T-rex!

I thought T-Rex was a bit loud and the food is probably not even quite as good as Rainforest Cafe, but it's kind of fun.

Hi Bella,

You COULD'VE misspelled them all; but as long as the first and last letters are in their correct positions, the human brain (which is bilingual) can figure it out. You misspelled "think" and "atmosphere" and forgot the apostrophe in "that's", but that's okay.

Jim, who clearly has too much time on his hands and must go to the grocery store.

Well, Bella, you did ask. Laughing out loud
