I've never been one to tour the parks methodically, but I know some people swear by touring plans that allow them to get everything in smoothly and systematically. What's your style?

I think you could call our touring plan "follow your nose" or "follow your feet". We very rarely have a set plan to follow and basically wander around. We always have enough time (2 weeks) to see everything and have been enough times that we know where everything is. We make sure that if there is something special we want to see such as Candlelight Procession for example, that is our destination for the day and all else is just icing on the cake for that day.
We usually have a rough plan depending on what we want to do that day, but it has to be flexible to allow for unexpected queues or extra's that had been forgotten during planning.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.
We have a general plan before we leave home..typically I look at EMH's and try to avoid those parks during the day..
When we get to the parks our touring plan is simple "look at which way the people are heading..and go the opposite way"
At Disney people have the tendency to follow others blindly. There were several times on our last trip when we were going to get on Space Mountain but there was a huge mass of people waiting to get through the FP line (we would have FP's)..we would walk up to the gate just to check it out..and some fool would be standing there waiting for his FP time to come and people just lined up behind them because they thought they were waiting to get in..so we'd just go on through. It blew my mind. Dave & I thought about standing in line in front of some random door on Main Street and see how long it took people to start lining up behind us.

You shouldn't take advantage of sheeple, that's just mean.

But oh so effective
We have done it before..it always works. We have our MK touring plan memorized now, so we always are done with Fantasyland and Tomorrowland by the time it's getting really busy!
The extent of our plans are usually "Which Fast Passes do we get first?" Other than that, we just like to wander around and see what wait times look like, and enjoy the experience of the park rather than trying to keep on a schedule. Personally, I wouldn't mind trying one of the unofficial Touring Plans floating around one day, just to see how it works and how much we can fit in, but that's not really Mr. Arb's style.
That's pretty much what we do too Arbolita. I guess before we head over to get a FP we decide what we'll ride while we're over there. Of course we don't stay at the parks as long as most people.

Yup. Same with us. Especially when it comes to Toy Story Mania... lol

Certain rides are more or less crowded at certain times of the day. I always refresh my mind on which ones or which areas and try to do the opposite of what the masses do. It's always worked well. Do some research on it and there are so many time saving tips!

Exactly what I do in the parks...
