We always have to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the back car. Do you ever request specific seats on rides? If so which rides and where?

No I can't say that I do, I just sit wherever they point.
We've never done that. Though if they ever try and put me in the very front car at Space Mountain I will most definitely request anything else!
We've randomly gotten both the front and last car of Rock n Roller coaster, both of which I though were awesome, but we've never specifically requested.
I never thought of asking! Funny enough, the ride I do like certain seats for is Winnie-The-Pooh. I let people go ahead of me until I can board into the seat I like.
Next time I can ask!
I always request the top row for Soarin. Its so much better not seeing people's feet dangling in front of the screen.
I totally plan on waiting for the front on this ride... I've heard the same thing from so many people. Who wants to look at feet dangling in front of you?

I've waited for the back seat on some coasters as it's usually the wildest ride. Also waited for the front seat for RnRC to get the best view. Not had a cast member yet who has had any problem with a request for specific seats, I always make it known that I'm prepared to wait for the next car if needed.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.
I've never asked for a specific seat. I did notice while waiting in the single rider line for Expedition Everest they have a waiting area for anyone wanting the front.
Last time we were at Big Thunder Mountain the CM placed us in the back car. They had been filling from the front and he suddenly switched and put us in the back seat. We tried to ask him to put us in the front but he said that the back was much better. We just quit complaining and went to the last seat and prepared ourselves for a mediocre ride... And we were quite pleasantly surprised! Although we have never asked for any special seats before, we are sure to as for these again!
Viva La Quinta Brigada - y Disney!
brandmaster - yes we were told the same thing when we requested the front on BTMR. So we moved to the back and it was so much better.
We requested the front car on RnRC the first time we went on it. DH used the power of the justmarried pin to get us on the front car. Which he didn't really need to use. However, when the ride ended the CM who welcomed us back let us go through the back door and ride again. This time we didn't ask and we got the front row!
I do alot, you get much better air time in the back cars usually,BTM, EE. Then you got the "get wet seat" on Splash Mt., but thats just the seat next to scrappy, which is always me! Always try to get the front on ToT too!
Only on Soarin'. If we are in a waiting kind of mood we might ask to skip this round and go on the first row in the next one. It is so much better! On our first ride on EE we were talking to the CM because they were from South Carolina where we are from. He told us if we didn't mind waiting he'd put us in the front row because it was "awesome". We did..and it was!
I like to be in the front for space mountain. I like to see everything without heads blocking me!
Its been a while since ive requested a certain spot. Lately I havent... I guess im just not picky anymore... lol

I've ridden every row of EE and I can say that back row is the best! and since people are always wanting the front row of it, the CMs are more than willing to let you have the back. If there is a specific row on a ride that I want, I usually just ask, they usually don't mind helping you out.
although last time my boyfriend & I went to MK we asked to sit in the front row of Splash Mtn because we were planning on buying our picture and didn't want someone else's hands blocking us...but the girl seating people was very rude and snobby and wouldn't give it to us, even after I explained why we wanted it. oh well, their loss, we didn't buy the picture because like I predicted, you couldn't see my face because of the person in front of us.

Back is definitely the best, although sometimes we do the front just to mix it up.
At our local amusement park, there are three roller coasters that I can ride without ratcheting up the queasiness factor - the kiddie coaster, the Wild Mouse-type coaster (the hairpin turns don't bug me, it's the hills that do me in) and a twisted double in-and-out wooden coaster that I can only ride if I'm feeling really, totally awesome. If I ride any of them, I MUST ride in the front seat. I need to be able to see where I'm going to avoid hurling.
But we have season passes for our local park. If I misjudge and start feeling nasty, I can leave without wasting a day's admission. At Disney World, I won't take that chance, so I generally don't ride any coasters. Splash Mountain and Test Track are as wild as I get. I do prefer the back seat on Splash Mountain, though, so maybe in the future I will ask for that seat.
the cool part about the front row is when you stop because the 'track is gone' and it pulls the front row out over the edge of the mountain. its almost terrifying because you think you're never gonna stop but you get the coolest view in all of Disney!

We were in the front row when I rode tower of terror for the first time... Maybe that's why I was crying like a little baby... Lol
I've never requested, but I definitely don't like to be in the front row!

Hi Jen, since you are from OH, have you been to Cedar Point? Is TOT similar to "The Demon Drop"?

But you tried it Jess and you can honestly say how you felt about it. If you never tried it, you would have never known.
I like the front of Space Mountain, but the cars are so short, it doesn't really matter. I like the back on BTMM and EE, but the front of EE was cool. I haven't had the back of RR, but I am going to try for that on this next trip. Sometimes it's tough to request when you're in the single rider line.
I am not adamant about seating except for Soaring. I really need to sit in the middle section. I get motion sickness if I am on an end and that's because if I see where the screen ends it screws up my equilibrium. The "moving" film and the stationary wall really plays tricks with my mind..
I live in Michigan myself and have been to Cedar Point several times... ToT is similar to the Demon Drop, but DD only drops you the one time, however they do have the Power Tower where you can opt to either go up and drop or start at the bottom and shoot up. The dropping side of that ride is closer to ToT insomuch as they tease you about when you're going to actually drop by droping you a couple inches, pausing for an unknown amount of time, then ACTUALLY dropping you. Then you 'bounce' several times. However this is all in the open air. ToT is a much better and exciting total experiance!
At Disney, I've never requested a certain seat. However last year we had our Happily Ever After pins on and rode in the front in a lot of rides which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately BTR will be closed on this vacation and I want to try riding in the back seat now. I'll have to see how things play out this next vacation though!

No problem Jess, I'll take the video!

First I'd like to say that these forums are so awesome!! We are planning our first trip to WDW and we are taking our son who will be almost 3 when we go. I was just wondering if there are pins for the first time at disney world so I can get one for him. And if anyone reccommends things for us to do with our son. We are also taking my mother so my husband and I can have some time to ourselves in the parks and to go out to dinner one or two nights. Any reccommendations there?
Thanks in advance and what an AWESOME forum:)
Hi! Shelby1009 and yes there are first time pins available for your son and they can be picked up at the Town Hall building which is located on the left as you enter the Magic Kingdom. As for nice dining restaraunts. I think OHana and the Cali Grill are 2 standouts but there are many. My personal favorites are Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin hotel, and The Turf club at Saratoga Springs resort, but I am sure others on this great forum will tell you of their favorites. Again Welcome.
Soooo in review lol...where do we request to sit on Soarin'?
PS: I think it might be kinda easy at 9am RD...
