Do You Visit DTD Every Trip?

We were talking about "every trip" rides and I was curious if DTD was an "every trip" experience for everyone. I have to confess that on shorter trips, we sometimes just don't make it over there.

We are usually there for a long enough time frame that we manage to get there several times per trip. for EoS, shopping etc.

We always make it a point to visit DTD. We have established an EoS tradition where it just wouldn't be a trip to the World without it. All that said, we haven't taken any short trips. I suppose it is possible (though unlikely wink ) we could skip it on a short trip.

We too are usually there long enough to always make it to DTD several times each trip. (Where else would a girl shop?) laugh

When we DO take short trips (which isn't too often) we usually pick the parks over DTD if there's not enough time to hit everything. I like DTD much more than DH does, though, so I imagine if I were there for a solo trip, I'd get there more often.

We've been to DTD for shopping and eating at least a couple of times every trip. Even if we only had a short visit instead of the usual 2 weeks we'd probably make it over there.

Is DTD a particularly good pin trading location, or do you just need fresh meat?

We've always had a great time trading there. There are often sharks though, so you have to be aware of those (they can sometimes be mean, nasty sharks...with laser-beams).

Sharks with laser-beams? Sounds pretty high-tech scary! laugh I'll be sure to wear my chain-link suit to DTD next time.

I enjoy going over there, but I rarely really do anything, except eat. Normally we just goof around in some of the stores (like LEGO) They do have some interesting eats over there. We've been experimenting more and may go over there more often.

I agree. If the flight to somewhere is 6 hours or more, you have to stay at least 2 weeks! silly

6 hours? I wish. For us it's about 10 hours out and about 8 hours back. That doesn't include ground travel at either end.

Are you guys close to a major airport? We live very close to a major hub in DFW, I would hate to think about a long flight that you had to drive for a couple of hours for first, or take a connection before your 10 hour flight. yuck

We have 3 major airports within an hours drive and have used two of them for flights to Greece (using the 3rd for the first time this year), but every time we've flown to the US it's been from Gatwick which is over 2 hours away.

Do you have a fun night in London before leaving for WDW? biggrin

Not usually. Check-in is normally quite early so we either drive down in the early hours or stay in a local B&B and get an early night.

Yikes! 2 hour drive to get on a 10 hour flight! I think I'd make DW do the driving. biggrin

Yes, I do. Not for the shopping, but for the restaurants and I like to see a movie while I'm there.

How's the theater there, SF? I'd like to try it someday, but I'm spoiled with our XD theater at home!

We enjoyed it. It's not dissimilar from a big theater anywhere else, but it's one of the nicer ones I've been to.

This is something I've always wanted to do for no clear reason. I really think it would be fun to see a movie at DTD but we never seem to make it. We're kind of picky about movie theaters though and it was opened quite a while ago, so I wonder if it's as nice as some of the new theaters that are adding cool features like big leather seats etc.

I've only been there the one time, and honestly I had a lot going on. Best I recall it was a nice, modern stadium theater we were in. Don't think it had leather seats or anything too swanky, but it was clean, comfortable, looked and sounded good. I had never been because I felt like that was something I could do any day of the week at home. In retrospect, it was much cooler to do it while in the World. Plan a nice night out, with a movie flanked by some of your other favorite WDW/DTD activities.
