Does Your Heart Swell with Pride?

I was kind of sad last week while staying off property in Kissimmee. However that changed when I took the girls over to lunch at Kidani Village. I got all teary-eyed when we drove through the gate at Animal Kingdom Lodge and the guard said "Welcome Home!" Home, I was really home. It's my hotel, my savannas, my pools, my restaurants and I absolutely love sharing them with my friends. My heart swelled with pride when everyone loved their lunch from Sanna. At breakfast a few days later it happened again when one of my friends who had never been to Animal Kingdom Lodge, decided it would be a fantastic place for their family trip. I love it when people love my DVC.

I admit it without pause, I have been spoiled rotten by Disney. I get a kick out of people who have that moment of luxury realization. Yes, it's Disney... no, it's not an All Star. Use the Valet. Make friends with the Bell Staff. Have an unusual request? Contact the Concierge. That's my Disney, welcome to my home. Smile

Do you get emotional when people say great things about your favorite resort or your DVC "Home"? Do you love sharing the DVC experience with your friends and family?

We love our DVC, I can't say we get emotional about it, but I can see & understand your point. For us I think it is more sharing the whole "Disney" experience with our friends. Some people feel "it, the Magic" and some people don't. For those that don't, oh well, that's less people in the parks, for those that do, we are right there with you!

Kristen , I will admit, we are a little spoiled too when it comes to Disney. It's the only place we go for vacation, we love it and can't see us ever going anywhere else.

Do you ever get a shiver rundown your spine when you see a video from or about Disney? Get a little teary eyed maybe? I have and think it's great that I do. I got a shiver when I saw this! One More Day

I can so relate to you both! Every Disney commerical makes me tear up. When I see pictures or hear of people staying at Port Orleans Riverside, I get the same feeling as you do, Kristen. This resort is so special to me. When my husband and I took the kids to Disney for the first time, we stayed here.We stayed in the mansion section of Oak Manor. Never stayed here before. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It really helped us to just relax and enjoy everything.

I do get a little shiver when I see a Disney Commercial on TV. I must admit they are incredibly good about picking their theme music lately.

Love the Good Life commercial! And I, too, have had that little inward smile and tightening in the chest when I hear people speak in such reverence about the Disney they just discovered - the Disney that seems to be all wrapped up somewhere inside me.

It must be from all the Wonderful World of Disney and Mickey Mouse Club I watched from my earliest memories.

Right after I got done with my college program I used to cry at every Disney commercial I saw! ...I still cry EVERY single time I see Wishes when it gets to the "When you wish upon a star" part.

Lol, I often cry at wishes too! The line "Genie, I wish you were free!" always makes me mist up.

And yes, I always feel that sense of pride in my Disney "Home" too.

I agree with you all. My wife, kids and I love out DVC. If we didn't have it... we would be lucky to go to Disney every 4 years... if THAT! We also love that our Home is AKL as well. Its just a great place to stay. When I'm at work... my digital frame has all the pictures I took of last trip... so every time I'm working, I'm reminded of how much fun Disney is. muchlove
