Downtown Disney eats

So I am sitting at home on this very cold and snowy day here in Wisconsin planning my Disney trip in September and I am wondering about where you all like to eat at downtown Disney? I have to admit that we usually just go to downtown for dinner once on our trips and we always eat at The House Of Blues. Well this trip we are going to be in downtown for an afternoon and I need a place to eat lunch. We like sit down and we are open to trying new things. Any suggestions would be great. Help a girl out and if you can send me some warm weather please! laugh

A strong recommendation that almost everyone would agree with is Earl of Sandwich. They have sandwiches, soups, wraps and salads to choose from. They do accept the DDP. I like Raglan Road and Rainforest Cafe. Planet Hollywood is good as well. Pollo Campero is good as well. Splitsville has really good food.

Well our last three stays were at PORS so the boat to Downtown was a regular thing...Yes we also love House of Blues for dinner but for lunch Earls was a must as was WPE...The portions were big and tho it's a CS restaurant a server brings your food..Last trip we tried Cooke's of Dublin and it was awesome... clapping

For lunch it has to be Earl of Sandwich.

For lunch, Earl of Sandwich tops my list, and Pollo Campero is right behind it.

I am leaning towards either Earl of Sandwich or Raglan Road. Both places look like they have good items on the menu. Has anyone tried Paradiso 37? It looks like an interesting menu.

Earl for me is more of a snack, but Raglan is more of a bigger meal that will fill you up more..Never tried P37 due to it's average reviews..

For lunch, we liked Paradiso, but Raglan Road was better. Here are some pics from both:

Paradiso jalapeno burger, nachos, and drinks:

Raglan Road Dalkey Duo, salmon and colcannon potatoes, Burger 'R' Way, Prosciutto & Chicken Sanger w/colcannon potatoes, and Banger & Booz:

Earl of Sandwich, so far, is my favorite on-property restaurant, period. I dream about those sandwiches. I keep thinking for my next trip that maybe I'll eat somewhere else at DTD (even if it's just QS like Cookes of Dublin), but I'm like 99% sure I'll just end up at EOS again.

I'm actually debating whether or not I should switch my plans to stay at the Pop to one of the DTD resorts (either POFQ or renting points for OKW) just so I have faster access to my one true love, the Earl. muchlove

Wolfgang Puck in the Marketplace!! A pre-race must do for me. I will express the unpopular opinion that EOS is horrible and should be avoided at all costs. Of course, I only tried it in Disneyland, not in DTD, so maybe that one is better??

I've only been to Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney because their food is simply amazing and I can't get enough of their sandwiches. But other than that, based on the comments and recommendations, I would also add Raglan Road and House of Blues for table service. For counter service besides EOS, I'll throw in Cookes of Dublin if you want Irish food that is not as pricy as Raglan Road and quicker service and Wolfgang Puck Express, as well. For snacks, Ghiradelli's has great chocolate selection and ice cream sundaes and you can't go wrong with Goofy's Candy Company where the feeling of being a kid in the candy store is literally there. You can make your own desserts, buy candy or slushes they call glaciers.

I really want to try Pollo Campero, but the Earl of Sandwich pulls us in every time. We ate there four times on our last trip to the exclusion of every other restaurant at DTD and it is by far my favorite counter service on property.

It's not really special to Disney, but there's no Planet Hollywood anywhere near us anymore, and we do book an ADR there sometimes because we love their LA Lasagna and whatever those chicken tenders that are coated in Captain Crunch are called (Chicken Crunch maybe?).

Skunk thank you so much for the pictures. They made me very hungry!! I think for right now we are leaning towards Raglan Road because the DH found out they had chicken liver pate (yuck) which he was very excited about. Of course we have till September so the plans could change many many times. I think we might try Earl for breakfast one morning. It's great to get everyone's picks you all always come up with great ideas.

We like Wolfgang Puck Express. My husband really liked Earl of Sandwich, but it just doesn't do it for me, but I don't eat bread anymore so my choices are limited. I did have a sandwich back in 2011 and it was nice, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.

I would stay at ssr for the fastest spot to dtd. If the boats aren't running then ssr is not a far walk

FYI for SSR: as of December 10, the walkway to DTD was still closed due to construction. The CMs couldn't give us an estimate of when it would reopen.

I liked Earl of Sandwich...I need to find somewhere that has chunky fries rather than the McD's-like stuff. I've also eaten at the Irish Fish and Chip shop (I can't remember the name of it now) but refuse to eat at places like Planet Hollywood. Must try House of Blues next time...

EoS is great. We have one in Manhattan, but its just not the same quality.

I've been meaning to get to Raglan Road, but I never seem to make it there.

I used to like Portobello Yacht Club, but its been years.

I'm looking forward to trying the food trucks.

I'm going to sound like a horrible food snob, but I've never been that thrilled with the offerings at DTD. Then again, I've never been a chain restaurant kind of guy either, so that eliminates just about everything at DTD.

Having said that, I'm looking forward to trying a few of the food truck offerings the next time we're there.

We almost always end up at Raglan Road when dining at DTD. Also been to the Dinosaur restaurant but wasn't a huge fan. I thought the burgers were way overpriced and not that all that special. But the interior is pretty neat too look at with all the different dinosaurs and ice age and what not.

Never been to Raglan Road, maybe we will make the effort next trip. We are going to T-Rex too, but not for the food, we are going for our son and younger daughter who will both love it. That's the problem with taking kids, we compromise to get a good dining experience and avoid bored children spoiling our meal, so a mediocre meal with happy children is better than a great meal with grumpy children.

Raglan Road was very good, but my favourite CS surprise last visit was Cookes of Dublin..However our T- Rex meal was awesome..We also went for the fun but we all had steaks and they were outstanding..We had 2 cocktails on the advice of our server..Whoa!.. eek .They were brilliant...We were in the Blue Ice Caves and the animatronic Dino's were a laugh a minute..Yes it's noisy, but what would you expect from a Dinosaurus experience ...

Great to hear you had a good meal in there, I have read so many bad reviews for it. We went in 2009 and our meal was fine, can't remember what we had to eat, but I just know the children will love it. If the food is good too then that's even better.
