DVC and DDP

I can't believe I am even contemplating this because the last 2 times we've used the DDP it always seemed as though it didn't work out - mainly because we were still paying for 'extras' like appetizers, alcoholic drinks here and there, something for Wyatt (he was under 3 but always ate more than anyone could 'share; with him, unless we ate at a buffet) But this time he's 3 and so he 'counts'

Originally we were going to go to WDW in October but I am seriously thinking of canceling those ressies and just carrying over the points to next year. (Here's why) so APs and TIW are out.

This means park hoppers for all and a food budget. What would you budget per day, as a DVC member who has 7 TS meals planned for an 8 day stay? More than the $42/day for the DDP?

I think you might very well spend more than $42/day on food, but you might still spend more than $0 with the DDP. (I'm assuming this is per person) Are all your TS reservations one credit restaurants?

oh Great Goddess in the sky - nevermind! It's insanity!!! I have to get the DDP for the number f days we have reservations for EVERYONE - even if some are not going to be there for the entire 8 days!!! Soo, that question has been answered, LOL

I was thinking about $50 a day per adult and maybe like $15 a day per child...we'll have the villa and we'll be able to make food or have snacks there so it's possible those numbers are a bit high.

Now - on to figure out APs and TIW laugh

The AP situation is a little different now with the whole renewal thing. It makes it much AP decisions easier in some ways and harder in others.

The renewal thing? Okay - what am I missing> The part about renewing by Aug 2010 to get 3 more months?

Yeah that's all I was referring to.

Okay - I found this:

Valid if annual pass is renewed by August 31, 2010.

Annual
passholders can renew their passes and receive an additional 3 months
free! That's 15 months for the price of 12!

Until August 31, 2010,
renew an annual pass by your anniversary date, (or within 30 days of
your anniversary date) you can earn 15 months for the price of 12.

But I am wondering if that applies to me? Sounds like it has to be within 30 days of anniversary date? Like, I buy my AP on 4/30/10 - can I renew in Aug.2010 and get the AP for 3 more months?

Oy, this is confusing to me, LOL

Glad it's all working out, UL! So are you getting APs?

Arrrgghhh....to go or not to go in October, THAT is the question. It's a 3 day trip using 109 points. Is it worth it for 3 days and the MNSSHP?

Hmm... I still say it's worth it... but maybe after your upcoming BLT stay, you'll be better able to make a decision.

Wait a minute...making a decision during Post-Disney-Depression is NOT a good idea laugh

Ahhhh, yes. I've decided that despite the fact that I was severely 'demoted' at my full time job (making $3K a month working from home to about maybe $350-$500 a month eek ) We are still going to go to WDW in October and therefore getting APs makes the most sense for the 5 of us. I'll just have to get my grandma and MIL a hopper pass and my BFF is on her own for tickets, she'll get a hopper pas to.

With this in mind, no DDP - we'll get the TIW card.

As for my job, I think I am going to tel my boss to go pound sand and just ditch it completely. I am going back to freelancing and will be able to come close to making up that $3K every month. (so if you know anyone who needs freelance work, send them my way! L&C Freelancing awesome )
