DVD outrage

This past weekend I bought 33 Disney DVD's off of Kijiji ( Kijiji is Canadian website similar to Craigslist) that the seller claims were NEW and UNOPENED. I paid $280 only to come home and realize they have been re-packaged Angry
I was looking forward to racking up some Disney Movie Reward points but every movie that was eligible was missing the insert except for one. However, when I typed that code it in, it said it had already been used! I also noticed that one of these so called "unopened" dvd's had water damage on the slip cover. The first dvd i tried in the dvd player was skipping right off the start too. Needless to say I'm feeling pretty outraged and ripped off mad
I guess the lesson here is Buyer Beware.

The majority of complaints we get about internet fraud are all from Craigslist. You may get a good deal once in a while, but most of them are rip offs!

If you paid by credit card, you can dispute the charges with your credit card company and depending on the credit card company, they will refund your money. You just have to tell them that what you received was not what you paid for. Tell them what was listed as new was actually repackaged and damaged.

Hey Spook...sorry that happened to you sad but I agree with Kris...if you paid by credit card definitely dispute the charges. Take pictures of the items and the credit card company will most likely credit you in some way.

What Kris said is right. Here are the "Common-sense rules" posted by Craigslist. The first one is the most important!

That really sucks Sad I had a similar thing years ago when I bought some from eBay. We don't have anything like Craigslist over in the UK

Unfortunatly I paid in cash sad
I'm just hoping that they all work fine. Aside from 2 of them they do look new. And the one that was skipping was skipping in the previews (I didn't have time to watch the actual movie). I'm hoping it was just some dust or something or that only the previews are affected not the actual movie.

I did the first one! But I just didn't pay close enough attention i guess. I mean they were sealed so i figured the people were telling the truth about them being unopened. Maybe i should just stick to buying new from the store Puzzled

I figured that sad
although the codes weren't all that important. The main reason i bought them is because 95% of my disney movie collection is on VHS and i want to upgrade to dvd's. The codes were an added bonus that i was hoping to use to redeem a gift card or something. I guess in the long run i got what i wanted and that was disney dvd's that were new(ish). From now on though i'm going to check walmart first Wink

I have the same issue....lots and lots of VHS tapes that I have now gotten rid of. I must say, the new DVDs are reengineered and the color is AMAZING, even the regular DVDs. And a lot of them are double disc sets that have a lot of bonus material. I scored Beauty and the Beast today for $15, a double DVD set.

Yes, Walmart! I resisted (yesterday anyway..) but they also have Dumbo (double disc) for 14.96, and I think they have Fox & Hound and Lady & Tramp too.

I watched Beauty and Beast yesterday for the first time since my kids were little, and I now realize that while I have "listened" to these movies in the background while doing housework or making dinner many times, I have never really watched them all the way through!

Beauty got me so pumped for the new Fantasyland stuff. The restaurant chandeleir is just like the one in the movie, as are so many of the other details. I think I will get to eat there in November!!
